Rob Burrow. on 23:40 - Jun 2 with 2779 views | Sandyman | One hell of a player was "Little Rob". Watching that Rhinos side with him, Sinfield, Senior, McGuire et al made a pleasant change from the usual St Helens / Wigan dominance back in the day. Stephen Hawking, Rob Burrow, and those we have known personally - hits home how cruel MND is.

The one thing about MND is that as soon as you are diagnosed, it is the beginning of the end. No cure, just one outcome at some distant, undetermined date. Tick-tock. I know 3 people (including one relative) who have succumbed to this wicked disease and it is hideous in the way that it takes your life away, whilst nurses, carers and loved ones can only stand and watch, provide their treatment and care, against all the odds. There are many cruel illnesses out there, but few, if any are as relentless and devastating as this. Rob Burrow lived his days with great dignity and fortitude and was supported by a massive network of friends and the Rugby family generally, who did a magnificent job for him and made life as tolerable as they could for him and his family. They deserve the highest praise. Rob will be remembered for many years to come and for very good reasons. A wonderful sporting icon and a great family man. If his legacy is to have highlighted MND and increase the research and funding, then he and his family can be very proud. Rest in Peace, Rob.

Rob Burrow. on 19:47 - Jun 4 with 2142 views | Reedy | I know nothing about rugby at all, but the outpouring of emotion on this side of the hill has been incredible - the courage and humility he had was incredible. It’s rare that most people in a city are talking about the same thing, but this has been the case with this news this week. An incredible athlete and an even better human.

Rob Burrow. on 04:33 - Jun 5 with 2022 views | downunder | Rest in Peace. Buts lets not forget his co-pilot, Kevin Sinfield, who will soldier on with fund raising in his mates name. He deserves to be knighted IMHO.
