Occasionally I find myself having to explain to people, often Europeans who've moved to West London and are choosing a club, why they should despise Chelsea. I thought it might be handy to have all the reasons in one place. Can you help?
- Racist - big hooligan element - never at any point in their history resided in Chelsea, they’re more Fulham than even Fulham are - racist - “I was there in the s**t times” when they actually weren’t - racist
Hate-filled racist morons who lack the basic intellectual capacity of early hominids. The sort of creatures that attack the mirror after catching a glimpse of their reflection. Beings that harbour such ugliness in their souls that they cannot bear to see others enjoy life, celebrate difference or love authentically. Their complete lack of self-awareness is staggering, matched only by their towering sense of entitlement.
'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'
It's strange, my old dad supported Chelsea before the war and I remember him telling me as a child, that Chelsea had the most witty and humourous fans in the whole country. God knows what he'd think of the current lot.
Similar to Leeds, fans were bullies, enjoyed their away days at Bournemouth, Cambridge and the like; didn't enjoy Millwall, West Ham, Man City, Cardiff, Portsmouth or anywhere their numbers could'nt intimidate the locals. Same reason they thrived on the England away scene, bullying restaurant owners in Luxemburg and San Marino usual mo.
Not enough made of this. Nobody who made billions in post-communist Russia has clean hands. The country is endemically corrupt and run by gangsters and the main source of wealth in the early days was vulture capitalism feasting on public assets at bargain prices.
That's what paid to make them a "Top Six Club" and what keeps them there is the cannibalisation of English football aka The Premier League.
Rigging the system so well - massively inflating their balance sheet with huge numbers of players, and then being at the forefront of bringing in FFP, knowing they can get around it by selling off players who never play, but it's too late for others to play the same game.
Hoovering up young talent that never plays (see above).
