Shirt Sponsors from the 80s on 16:33 - Feb 14 by Boston | I note you were unable to remember Fulham's. |
The only two Fulham kit sponsors I can remember from the 80's are Teleconnect and Prestige Travel...the Google and Expedia of their day. Our most famous sponsor was the Samaritans, who had an advertising board at the front of the Putney for the benefit of the home fans. Know your market. I do miss the days of local sponsors and local adverts for local customers when you went to the football, with the PA announcer playing records and announcing, "Today's records were supplied by Gary's Records on the High Street". Half of today's Premier League sponsors and perimeter adverts aren't even in the Roman alphabet. Bring back adverts for local Builders merchants rather than Chinese online gambling sites.

Didn't the GMB union sponsor Fulham for years? I used to go to Brentford a bit when I lived in South Ealing 30 years ago, and their advertisers used to reflect local light industry. At one game I counted nine perimeter boards advertising some sort of screw, bolt or fastening.

Yep, during the 90's. Paul Kenny is a Fulham fan. They sponsored Brentford after us.
