Aintree/Masters Golf on 13:55 - Apr 7 by ElHoop | Yeah well done. Very annoyingfor me as i would have backed him if the yard had been looking in better form. Sheehan is my tip for the top - a very very good young jockey. |
I've watched him twice live this year and, whilst he was beaten, he looked good. And they bypassed Cheltenham for this. So clear they were going all in to win this at a decent price for connections. He was beaten by Vaniteux and Ar Mad earlier in the year, but they will both turn out to be bloody good. The latter I think is the absolute muts nuts and will surprise a lot of people chasing at 2m next season. 2nd best horse behind Douvan at that distance as a novice and would only be a length or two off him....
Aintree/Masters Golf on 14:37 - Apr 7 with 3196 views | Hunterhoop | Wrong Mullins horse in the 2.15. That was an extraordinary performance for Apple's Jade. Absolutely extraordinary.
Aintree/Masters Golf on 01:04 - Apr 8 with 3096 views | ithastogetbetter | I took Lowry e/w @100/1 - hope he can stay course, to mix a metaphor
Aintree/Masters Golf on 08:53 - Apr 8 with 3037 views | Hunterhoop | Today's card is brutal; lots of competitive handicaps and no value in the grade 1s. For what it's worth, I think Buveur D'Air will win the 2.15, Native River is a decent ew shout in the 2.50 but try to get 8s. No real point betting on the next. Vautour should win but he's too short at 1/4. As de Mee in the 4.05 looks very good value ew at 16s. Finally, Ballyandy to win the 5.15. But, I wouldn't go big stakes today. Very tough. I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't have a winner. Tomorrow is a tad easier, I think/hope.

Lowry and Cabrera in a threesome - that's some tonnage!
Aintree/Masters Golf on 08:56 - Apr 8 with 3030 views | BrianMcCarthy | Hoping McIlroy or Lowry do it for Ireland, failing that one of the English golfers, please. Hoping beyond hope that too many horses don't get put down in Aintree.

Aintree/Masters Golf on 10:33 - Apr 7 by DesertBoot | Jason Day is the worthy favourite at 13/2. When full fit he's finished in the top three on both occasions. The predicted windy conditions won't be a hindrance as he drives the ball high and long. Phil Michelson is coming into form and is a good e/w at 20/1. For the Grand National Kruzhlinin caught my eye finishing fifth at the Cheltenham Festival over three miles. 25/1 looks value. |
Hate to see Michelson out of form! ***edit - would have been a fair point if Michelson was Ernie Els. Only he isn't. [Post edited 8 Apr 2016 20:26]

Aintree/Masters Golf on 09:33 - Apr 8 with 3001 views | ElHoop | You've also got McDowell Brian - he's showing signs of life again after a quiet spell. Yesterday wasn't bad at all - managed to dig out a few winners late on at Aintree and backed Origi to score first in the Liverpool game, which isn't a bet I normally like, but he was good odds and he's potentially a very good player for them. As for the Masters, didn't go to plan at all. Conditions for Spieth were pretty much the same as he won on last year so in retrospect it was idiotic not to back him to be first day leader. I'm not convinced that he'll win this year though. In fact I'm laying him to be outside the top 10, which isn't an expensive bet obviously and it's almost certainly idiotic but I think that conditions will gradually go against him as he's not a big hitter. However, the players closest to him are ones that I don't really like or rate so he could do it just by plodding round from here. It's a hard place to plod though. So I'm adding Willett, Rory, Grillo and Walker to the portfolio and i think that's definitely enough now. Hopefully Spieth will come back a bit today. As for Aintree, yes it's tough. Haven't even looked properly yet. 2.15 is interesting. How good was the Supreme at Cheltenham? Min was injured in the race so was it quite as good as it looked? Limini is pretty good but won a festival race in which most of the opposition was trying to hold a spoon with an egg in it. Agrapart won the Betfair Hurdle and the Yorkhill form is top notch and is fresh after missing the festival - so around 8/1 looks an e/w gimme. 2.50 - Un Temps did me a favour at the festival so I won't desert him here. 3.25 Vautour looks a good thing but I've a nagging feeling that something will go wrong here. Vibrato Valtat e/w anyway. 4.05 I agree As De Mee looks OK here. I like Corrin Wood too e/w at a massive price. 4.40 Ballydine missed the festival and this is going to be testing so he'll do for me - I like the Barters Hill form. 5.15 This bumper has penalties as it's not grade 1, so Ballyandy has 4lb extra. Could make the difference. Utility with Johnson riding for Jonjo is a hint and 10/1 or whatever e/w looks a bet. Good luck anyway - this is hard work!

Is it just this year that the live coverage starts at 7.00pm our time (both Sky and tomorrow when the BBC join in) or is it always this way? I'm feeling robbed. [Post edited 8 Apr 2016 14:56]

I really hope someone has followed my tips for Aintree. Two more winners so far today (Buveur D'Air and Native River), on top of 3 yesterday. At worst after today I'm going to be 200% up on the two days. And El Hoop, the Suprene form is superb!! Can't believe you doubt it! This Min was injured nonsense was just that. Altior is a monster...won a lot when he stormed home. Track the rest of that race form through. It stacks up. BTW, AMAZED Vautour fell. Glad I had nothing on the race. Good call El Hoop. Bookies recover a chunk there!

Well the Supreme form, we shall see. It depends on how they do in open company doesn't it? I think that Min's injury (out for season) puts some sort of question mark out there anyway. Had backed that Mouchoir thing at 50's at the festival so was bloody glad it didn't win here. Yeah Vautour did fall, but at least he's OK.

Only small change but I put on a couple of quid on the double but then cashed out for 10 when native was ahead but I thought he'd be caught - early on in the race. Would have been 67 if i held on - but still a cracking tip - missed you at Cheltenham!! What you thinking about tomorrow?
