+1 should be the CB back pairing for the next 5 years.

This guy has all the attributes of a younger, potentially better Clint Hill and that guy was a bloody good defender on his day.

Agree....but! Currently he needs Sir Clint of the Hill playing alongside him as a puppet master

Ned and Angela are hopeless (at the moment) and teaching him nothing

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Aahh...

That I don't agree with. Much as I love what Clint has done for the club he has been physically incapable of performing at this level for a couple of years and tonight he demonstrated a massive lack of pace, agility and even strength which was concerning.

I think Hall has all the raw ingredients, and agree a more experienced defender next to him would help, but I don't think we own that player. Hall/Angella is probably the pairing we should look to develop if we actually are looking to develop rather than replace!

Please expand on this lack of pace Clint Hill demonstrated tonight? As far as I could see tonight Clinton never got skinned. Might of shoved his big fat @rse in the way and blocked a player off and given away with a free kick. We've watched Chris Samba, Jose Bosingwa, Caulker, Rio Ferdinand, Anton Ferdinand over the last 5 seasons and every time Hill gets called back into the team. Forget Hills 37, forget he's been slogging it out in the lower divisions before he came to QPR.

Your not the only one, open your F@ckin eyes and watch the game! He's still our f@ckin best defender!!

Didn't he get skinned for the goal?

Seriously?

A good cross whipped in to the near post. I'll give you he got there first but Hill was hardly off the pace. We've had numerous goal conceded without anyone within f@ckin sight. All the defenders stand there looking at each other!

Serious question. Do you really think Hill was at fault for that goal?

I know you didn't say that. Just a genuine question.

Edit: If that lazy b@stard Ned actually gets himself in the right place that cross never happens.

No mate, I've said that elsewhere. Clint was put in a position he shouldn't have been put in because Nedum gave up on the winger. I do think he got beat by his man for that goal, can't see how that's not the case - the other fella was just a lot younger and sharper, no longer Clint's job as a defender if it ever was.

Fair enough. Just think this Hill gets skinned is a bit of b0llocks. When I think of someone getting skinned it's someone kicking the ball into space and outpacing them.

I still think you are being harsh on Hill as personally I don't think any of our other defenders would of been marking any tighter or defended that any better. I do agree though like all goals there's an element of blame on Hill although In fact Hall was covering for Onouha and failed to prevent the cross as well.

What's your opinion on Hill? Still good enough to play or past it? Genuine question not to trying to be a awkward b@stard.

Hall and Dunne would have been a top pairing. Hall is our best player at the moment.

I don't think the goal was about pace, the striker was just stronger and able to hold hill off and get in front of him.

I still think we shouldn't be relying on him at his age, not with the number of games we have in quick succession.

And Ramsay dropped him as soon as we got the Italian guy from Watford.

Hall is quality one of the positives of the season.

It's not his or Clints fault we are dire at the back. Though we have only conceded 1 in 3 recently so it's an improvement *Metallica searches brain for a positive*

Goal in my view was 100% down to Onhura and a terrific cross from Judge. If it had been at the other end we would have been fuming if Jet had not got across his marker to score

He is a great prospect for us. Really level headed and Hill really rates him.

Never knowingly right.

Every time I've seen Hall play I've been impressed, he looks a very good player & good signing. I really couldn't understand, and still don't understand, why Ramsey dropped him just to play the lightweight Angella. Hall was only offered a 2 year deal, get him signed up on a longer deal asap.

For me, he's been our best player for the last three games.

Grant Hall on 15:45 - Oct 31 with 4707 viewsNeil_SI

A really pleasing performance from him, I enjoyed it and it was a good experience for him overall, because there were plenty of scenarios that asked questions of the defence and he took responsibility and showed some potential longer term leadership qualities as a result.

I liked how he communicated with Clint Hill over some situations on the pitch that they weren't sure how best to deal with; namely when our midfield pressed high up the pitch and left a large space in front, which the Brentford strikers dropped into. I could see Hall talking it over with Hill, asking him whether he should stay in line or go with him, so that's really positive stuff and good awareness.

He also seemed unlucky to be penalised for what seemed like an excellent slide tackle on someone.

I'd like to see him taking the ball down more and trying to play. He looked decent when he strode forward on the ball. It's still early days with that stuff, it doesn't suddenly make him a top class ball playing defender, but there were certainly encouraging signs.

Ramsey will take blame for dropping him from the side, but that's decent enough management, he's still a young lad and needs to take his time building up to playing consistently at the top of his game from week to week. You don't want to hang young players out to dry when the going is tough, as it has been with our crowd in recent matches.

He will have isolated displays where you come away saying "this kid is the real deal" and then he'll have those, like against Bolton, where he will struggle with some of the Championships strikers, so it's simply about having the patience and time to let him find his feet and grow.

The end result is we want a defender who can cope mentally with the rigours of a full Championship season and who is able to play consistently well from week to week for the whole campaign. This is a tough ask for most, you only have to look at World Class players and teams to see it affects them too, just look at Arsenal who have always struggled to maintain performance and form over the course of a season and are trying to figure out why.

Picking and choosing the right matches to blood players and get them the right kind of experience is really important.

If your boss does the recruitment and bought someone in that he said was very good and you should use straight away, its likely you'd do it right?

Don't think Hall deserved to lose his place at the time, but Onouha is rightly / wrongly captain

Not another Tottenham player

Nah, he's been our signing of the season for me. Started off positive, not amazing but positive and has massively built on that. Improving with every game he plays and we have to give Ramsey credit for this don't we?

Hall certainly looks our most complete centre half. Has had the fortune to work with Clint and see what a real rugged centre half is supposed to do. Which means your first job is to head the ball well and not so much of elegant bringing the ball out of defence.

Agree with most of that, don't see how it was good management to drop him after a clean sheet away at Huddersfield though?
I thought that was terrible management and sent a dreadful message to the squad about what you had to do to keep the Jersey.
i thought it affected defensive performance for the next few games and possibly also morale for fringe players - I know centre backs come in to their own later on and he's relatively young experience wise with about 50 games under his belt but at 24 he's no baby!

If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled. PG Wodehouse
