Schneiderlin Is Only Fall Back Option For United In More Ways Than One ! Tuesday, 2nd Jun 2015 09:47 After yesterdays cast iron stories that Morgan Schneiderlin was a done deal to go to Manchester united it turns out that he may only be the fall back option for the Old Trafford Club. According to exactly the same media outlets that were screaming at us yesterday that Morgan Schneiderlin was a priority target for Manchester United and with some claiming that the deal had already been agreed, it seems that it might not be the cast iron rumour we were led to believe. Today apparently their new number 1 target is German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger whom it is being suggested they could get for around £11 million, less than half of what they will need to pay for Schneiderlin. A move to Schneiderlin to Old Trafford might not be the dream move he would hope for, United are quite happy with Michael Carrick as their holding midfielder, the only issue with him is he is injury prone, so Schneiderlin might not find himself an automatic choice or indeed even first choice if Carrick is fit. That is why United are looking at Schweinsteiger, being a cheaper option and arguably better quality option he will strengthen the squad and offer options at a far cheaper price. Whichever they sign it will be lucrative for Manchester Unites merchandising department, it wont be cheap for supporters to get either name printed on the back of a replica shirt, which perhaps gives a clue why they are not chasing Danny Ings. Schneiderlin's options are narrowing as it is far from clear whether Arsenal are as keen as is being suggested and if they do not make their annual rumoured bid as they have failed to do over the last six years that would probably mean that if Schneiderlin wants to play in the Champ[ions League then he wont be able to stay in England to do it.
