Why are so many bashing Nourry ??
at 18:39 24 Apr 2025

I cant quite get the level of undercurrents of low level hate towards Mr Nourry.

Its certainly a different way of operating to what we are used to.

And our club has employed him and apart from an injury ravaged season - definitely feel there have been several green shoots this season.

Its not been as good as most of us would have wished for but its been a reasonable season

And the phrase "Rome wasnt built in a day"

When we have been on a decent run here - no one chatted about Nourry but the poor runs of form - he gets both barrels from all and sundry - he has been the fall guy - no doubt.

Now I am far from saying I have agreed with all that he has supposedly been involved in and the results have been sketchy at times but overall we have stabilised and potentially there could be possibilities of "god forbid" a top half finish next season.

Its been a big change and the overall management of all areas of the club being under certain consistent structures of being so that changes in management or players moves smoothly and consistently in the right direction and with the correct overall ethos....

Yes there have been teething problems - any changes in any kind of organisation has these - some things wont work and some choices will be seen to be absolutely wrong but the idea to consistently improve, learn and in a consistent way also, I feel is the right way to progress.

Am certain both Brentford and Brighton have moved forwards with this kind of structures in place.

People worried about not being told details of contracts or injuries etc and then this was overturned - however then coincidentally we got all manner of ridiculous injuries.

I think the lack of knowledge from outside of Nourry's ultimate role and responsibilities and his impact is what concerns some fans a lot. If the ship starts sailing in the right direction, which it did from some period of time this season -Nourrys name was absent from this forum in particular...

Yes he is young. Yes he is non football man and yes he is a little nerdy.

But he is not here to cause trouble. Like everyone else his aim is for us as a club to be successful and he is trying in the way he is hoping it could be.

I think a lot of criticism has come his way as to the lack of fan engagement and being transparent but generally there have been more positives than negatives this season.

Next season we need to kick on.

Whether we do or not - who knows !!!!

We are trying something different and tbh why not indeed ??? Its not as if previous regimes succeeded greatly at all - we have been increasingly stained by our own mediocracy !!!!

I am 50 / 50 currently but will get behind this new approach. Anything new will face resistance but hey lets give this man a go and how we are being set up under this regime !!!!!!

Cifuentes at odds with Nourry over Performance Manager based in Dubai
at 20:09 23 Apr 2025

Said to be a massive issue for Cifuentes with Nourry in the running of the club !!!

Almost at breaking point...

It is, however, a report from the comic, called the Sun "newspaper", so recollections of the truth may be sketchy !!!

Apologies for reproducing such nonsense but don't shoot the messenger, as they say...

ANYHOW THIS IS WHAT WAS WRITTEN IN THE SUN

"QPR boss Marti Cifuentes considering quitting as manager after breakdown in relationship with CEO
The Spaniard is unhappy with a major operational problem

QPR boss Marti Cifuentes could quit the club this summer after a breakdown in his relationship with chief executive Christian Nourry.

Spaniard Cifuentes, who joined Rangers from Swedish side Hammerby in November 2023, has grown frustrated with the direction the club is heading under Nourry - who was brought in to oversee the club's recruitment in January last year.

Cifuentes wants re-assurances the club want to progress to the next level.
Cifuentes, who signed a new contract in September, was linked with the Sunderland job last summer.

The Loftus Road manager's potential availability could interest Norwich and West Brom, who sacked Johannes Hoff Thorup and Tony Mowbray respectively on Easter Monday.

The highly-rated 42-year-old is hugely popular with the QPR fans after keeping the club in the Championship last season.

But he has grown frustrated with the huge number of injuries his squad encountered this season, which ended their flickering play-off hopes and will result in a lower-mid-table

Cifuentes is unhappy at the club's decision to allow director of performance Ben Williams to oversee the club's sports science, medical, physio and nutrition departments remotely from Dubai.

QPR chiefs also vetoed a move from 27-year-old Nourry to appoint a set-piece coach earlier this season.

Headline summer arrivals Zan Celar and Nicolas Madsen have struggled since signing for a combined fee of over £5million.

And Cifuentes said after Monday's 2-1 home defeat by Swansea he wanted assurances the club want to progress to the next level having dropped out of the Premier League ten years ago.

The Spaniard said: “The supporters since I first came here have been amazing.

“But I would like to give them something else and not just celebrate another season in the Championship."

QPR play already-promoted Burnley at home on Saturday before a trip to play-off bound Sunderland on the final day.

Cifuentes had previously targeted surpassing last season's points total of 56 and the Rs are one win away from matching that.

QPR are 15th in the Championship after losing to Swansea on Monday"

To be honest, the headline is completely at ODDS with the report. It's a rehash of the West London Sport recent piece on their site.

I don't think we have anything to concern ourselves with here. He has said he wants to be here and the Sun are just looking at possible reasons why he may not, with absolutely zero evidence that this is indeed the case !!! Unusual that for this journalistic masterpiece of a factsheet !!!

Sorry chaps for regurgitating such nonsense. Blame me !!!

Thoroughbreds v Carthorses !!
at 05:57 22 Apr 2025

An analogy i would say comparing 70s and 80s football to that of the modern era.

In the past, you could claim players were like old cart horses, out of shape, but could keep on battling in fair weather and when the weather was not so kind. Old cart horses could be relied upon what ever the weather and playing conditions threw at them.

Today, players are primed for maximum performance, the aim is to be muscled yet with as near to zero body fat percentages, however the slightest twist and the muscle injuries arrive and it's impossible to carry on. So in these circumstances you could claim players are more like trained thoroughbreds, in that they are supposedly schooled to maintain optimum power, pace, agility and control, but the caveat being they are one step away from a twist or turn the wrong way and that's them done. Temperament issues abound also. Very highly strung are our thoroughbred boys and girls.

With all this data around, surely there also needs to be more thinking arounds prevention of so many injuries, in the way that data is interpreted so players are primed for performance with a need for durability also.

But then supposedly this what the performance data teams are supposed to effect.

However, also what needs to be factored in is the human element.

Players sometimes phone in performances and the ability to motivate such players needs to be included. And this is where the data teams then have zero relevance, as given this is as a number is completely subjective. Ie you have no clue with some players, what sort of version of themselves, you will get on any given day, but that's an element of the modern day that is just as important.

The "old duracell" adverts come to mind - endurance, stamina and reliability !!

In effect, you want to find a couple of "Eberechi Eze's" blended in nicely with an effective number of "Johan Barbet's" and add to the mix a sprinkling of "Jamie Mackie's".

You need your "Stanley Bowles" ", mixed in with your "Dave Clements" and a dose of your "Dave Thomas's" to boot.

It's as simple as that !!

"Data teams / Performance teams - Thats aĺl you need to do - it's over to you !!"

Home game availability as one off tickets ???
at 10:18 12 Apr 2025

I am considering next season not having a home season ticket as I can't justify cost going up 23 times a season.

Worked out it's about 16 visits that justifies the cost of a season ticket.

But probably going forwards am likely only go up ten times a season going forwards.

Just asking, as is it quite straightforward to always be able to purchase home tickets in advance easily for whichever game you want to attend ????

Think I would quite enjoy viewing games from different parts of the stadium also..

Anyone old enough to remember Stan Bowles in the bookies before games
at 10:11 12 Apr 2025

Was just thinking as read that Stan used to have a last minute bet on races half hour before the games.

Was this actually true ???

As can't understand that he would not have been mobbed by fans whilst doing this.

Yes i know it's a different era and maybe all just left him to it.

As I know from living in Portsmouth in the late 80s and early 90s, Alan Ball was Portsmouth manager back then and I was often in the bookies when he would randomly pop in watch his race, screw up his betting slip and come back in another day and everyone left him alone.

It wasn't done on match days though.

Was just wondering those that are old enough, do they remember Stan being in the bookies before the game and was he left to his viewing pleasures on his own or did the fans circle around him..

If these things happened today, I reckon people would be after selfies , a chat and God knows what !!!

Different times...

Am looking forward to tomorrow's game as not worried about relegation anymore...
at 21:44 11 Apr 2025

Probably like most, attending QPR games is not exactly a stress free enjoyable experience at times.

I enjoy wins more afterwards than during too.

I know some still think we need a couple more points to be safe.

I think we can play with freedom tomorrow ie it's not all about the result, we can try different things and hopefully bring a few more players into form without the stress of relegation looming it's ugly head over every move.

It will be a decent test tomorrow as Bristol certainly punching this season and with three former Rangers in their team, be brilliant to see a decent result and performance tomorrow from the team.

Looking forward to it and think it will be more of a show !!!

Fatal error - going to Rangers thinking you are going to enjoy the game !!!!!

Colback has shown the grit we have needed
at 22:55 9 Apr 2025

I have not always been Jack's greatest fan, but his combative style of play and letting the opposition know he is on the pitch has been a crucial element in us gaining the vital four points we have gained against two of our relegation rivals in the last few days

I understand he is 35 and sometimes he can be a potential liability ie almost guaranteed yellow card a game but his robust presence has been key.

He does the not so glamorous stuff better than most

Understand he maybe on a relatively high wage but would any have him here for another season.

Depends on his salary demands I would say.

A decision to be made...

Dembele has had a free ride this season
at 18:18 4 Apr 2025

Seems to be one that has escaped criticism this season.

Has practically been injured all season and when he has been on the pitch, there has been practically nothing happening.

Appreciate he was in a ridiculous position last time out but he has been a big disappointment for me.

I was extremely hopeful for the guy on the first few games. Was thinking how we have we managed to pull this one off. Couldn't believe we had signed such a player with such potential.

For me he is giving off Chris Willock vibes.

I want him to do well but fear he wont and will be another that is hardly ever available.

From what I have seen of both Yang and Saito, I think my focus for overseas would be in the Asian countries where work ethics is so much more of a thing. Is a massive generalisation, do appreciate that but I guess go to what works and maybe avoid small European leagues for now !!!

But yes Dembele needs to show something before the season is out for me.

He got a permanent contract and then got permanently injured and he has returned permanently out of form

Appreciate Madsen has not done well but he is one up on Dembele. He has been always available. Strange that by way of comparison, Dembele has not been criticised much at all by this forum. Maybe because fans think he could be good eventually. It's not been evident at all so far.

VAR at Rangers Matches
at 22:27 3 Apr 2025

Watching Chelsea Spurs and lengthy hold ups for decisions to be made on goals.

No common sense used with VAR as yet

Ridiculously bad use of technology

Unfortunately wherever we continue or not to ply our trade, some time soon, we will experience the horrors of this extremely poor current way to decide borderline decisions

Sorry people, some day soon even at the Rangers Stadium, will such a refereeing tool be used !!!!

Oh how i can't wait for that day !!@!

The Next Two Games is the Season - Shittu and Dou Dou Time
at 13:27 3 Apr 2025

If we lose both, we truly are in the mucky stuff !!!

Even two, three or four points from Cardiff at home, and Oxford away and I feel we are safe.

Zero points with rivals claiming three points on us, time to realise having Charlie Kelman up front, is the best option next season, as he would be proven at the level we will be playing .

Squeaky Bum Time Indeed !!!

Weird Random Facts - QPR related or anything related !!!
at 17:05 1 Apr 2025

Weird Random Fact

I found out today that the ex England cricketer and captain Mike Gatting was on trial as a goalkeeper for QPR at the age of 14.

He wasn't successful but the other trialist that day was chosen.

A certain Philip Parkes !!

Qpr's loss was England crickets gain. Poor old Mike was told he was too fat and too short. Hence fat Gatt took up cricket instead...

Derby's game in hand at home to Preston

Last thing we need is a home win

Be only five points ahead of relegation zone.

I personally am not worrying regards relegation. Feel there is too many teams lower than ourselves.

But Wednesday night truly need to become PNE superfans.

Mr Eustace and Co, need their momentum stopped pronto .

Loading Schedules ?? Complete load of ****
at 10:12 30 Mar 2025

Adhered to apparently, so why in last few seasons have we experienced the worst injury records in our history.

Probably about half a squad out at the moment and still Morrison and Lloyd are limited to cameos and players pick up injuries between games not during games.

Now we hear these are important so that players do not pick up.further injuries, so why are they MILLION times.worse.than most periods in our.HISTORY.

I am all for new ideas and options, if they work but this seems to be total BS.

It's not working in anyways.

Worst injury records iny memories.

Appreciate the boss is in DUBAI, but we have a few.employees in UK actively employed helping in these roles.

When I am assessed in my jobs, if the results are.awful, either the processes are looked at, ie the way of doing things is WRONG, or I am wrong, ie not up to the job and LET GO.

Anyone on here that actually believes In this process

The STATS are saying OTHERWISE.

That one is on Marti
at 17:01 29 Mar 2025

The starting line up was never ever going to work.

Having a centre forward, even one as limited as Lloyd would make a difference. Starting Dembele through the middle and with keeping Anderson helping Paal. Doomed to fail. I think today also showed Morrison must start also. And Yang too, given current availabilities.

Another infuriating game when the plan is in place when we are out of the game.

Yes we have bad injuries, but we still could be competitive, it's only Stoke, but we were set up to lose the game.

This is on the manager today, am sad to say.

Five for me gets us to 50 points

A draw away at Stoke and home win against Cardiff in next two fixtures, could well be enough, given they are matches against clubs in greater danger than ourselves.

Eight games left...

What do others feel is required??
