Yep, I've noticed that, Beckenhamhoop. It's a lovely gesture. I also love that he plays with a smile on his face and shows respect to all players on the pitch. In these days of rage and anger, he's a breath of fresh air.
He was out for 3 months in the 22/23 season with ligament damage while at Bayern. In the 23/24 season he played 35 games on loan at Wigan without any injury issues. This season he missed 9 games with a knee injury.
Whether he'll turn out to be injury prone remains to be seen.
The yellow card reset is after next Saturday so Varane will still be in danger of collecting 5 cards v Norwich. But if that happens, with Colback returning and Field serving the one match ban in that game, we should be okay v Oxford.
Will this season follow a similar path as 23/24? At the moment, of course, we all hope so.
What's beginning to become clear to me is, as last season, Marti has changed tactics and become much more pragmatic. Again he has realised our players cannot play pure Marti ball. Clearing their lines and playing long balls are not bad things for this squad to do.
It's very QPR to play better against the better teams. Man for man Warford are well ahead of us but we've threatened their goal far more than they have ours and with a bit more quality we would be ahead by a couple.
You may well be right but Dave Mc starts the article referenced in the OP with: "Marti Cifuentes has suggested that QPR still need to improve their transfer dealings...". So he seems to interpret Marti's comments as a squad issue rather than a club one.
