It looks to me that actual facts are thin on the ground on this thread. Plenty of ifs and understandings. The only fact is there’s a lot of speculation.

As ever the club and in this case McNulty could choose to make some facts public in a statement. But without a denial that he applied, will lead the speculation to rumble on, which whether anyone likes it or not, will tend to lead to question his commitment. Lose the next couple of games and it won’t look too good for him….

The alternative is McNulty delivers a long unbeaten run and actions will speak louder than words!

Over to you Jimbo!

You’ve more confidence in McNultys Big game performance than I have. In any game any result could happen, be it bottom, top or middle of the league. We never control games, never, ever, under McNulty.

We are playing Sutton Saturday - they’ve won as many as they’ve lost. Any idea how we’ll start the game? Quick tempo (Like Braintree - then defend for the rest of the game), or slow, pass it around th edge of the goalmouth (Barnet, Bromley etc). Maybe the opposition will have a right go (Halifax) wear themselves out and we nick it.

Anything could happen, but we do not ever control a game. If we are to win promotion, automatically or via playoffs, we will have to control games. Jim there yet? Nope? Is he learning - no evidence he is, because despite having better players, we remain unpredictably predictable.

The comms point was in response to someone else’s point. McNulty has been listening to Southgate too much and isn’t subjected to any sort of critical questioning. When he has any gentle challenge, he becomes indignant and defensive. In my view, talking is one thing, saying something meaningful is another.

Play off place will be expected next season? What exactly do we win for being in the play offs?

What NcNulty is is a rookie manager, with a talented squad currently producing consistently inconsistent results. To be of any interest to anyone else he’s going to need to perform significantly better than he has so far. Time will tell but the sack at some point between now and this time next year is as likely as any other outcome.

As for speaks well! Get some media training Jim🙄

Yes, you are right. Burton would be very lucky to snap Jim up, and we shouldn’t stand in his way.

Agreed. Our club has a great story to tell and with financial security - and a board with ambition to return to the Football League an attractive prospect, which I would think should attract multiple applications. Playing attractive, attacking football and improving our indifferent home form should be things the board would want to test in the selection process.

4-1 Henderson- the players not celebrating goals. Basically it’s a friendly - but one we should gain some confidence from. A win, is a win.

3-1 now - a brace for Barlow and either the fog has lifted or the camera has warmed up.

Stadium use as part of possible future redevelopment
at 14:41 28 Oct 2024

It is interesting that : “Architects are looking at [the stadium plans] at the moment, we’ve thought about whether there could be a diagnostics centre there, doctors surgeries, we want the ground to become a space for the community and use it 365 days a year.”

There’s a bit of a chicken and egg about developing commercial space, really you need the end user to specify, design and sign up to lease commercial space, before it’s built. So the club is doing the right thing seeking an end user. The health uses are an obvious and good suggestion, but GPs and Health Trusts are in my experience a nightmare to pin down to make decisions.

I’m not sure that the new football regulator would be a good fit, because of the relatively poor public transport connections which the stadium has. I suspect links to major rail connections would be a prerequisite criteria for site selection. But it’s good the club are making those connections and it’s a positive story showing something is happening!

I have often asked questions for Trust meetings, my points have been made and I’m told the new owners do not want to rock the boat. In my view they should be doing that, with some urgency.

Your second point is extremely germaine though, indeed we cannot change clubs; the sense I get though is that the club know that and treat their customers as captive.

This approach will not grow revenue, I attend games via a season ticket, which is the lowest cost way of attendance, I opt to have a pre match meal and beer away from RAFC. Even buying a programme is made difficult. So I can and do take my business elsewhere, whilst continuing to support MY club.

You have been a great advocate for the fan engagement process over the years, and that is appreciated as a constructive approach. But endless patience is getting us nowhere, we have seen little change, and my point is we need proactive disruption of the status quo to jump start the change we need to see on and off the pitch.

So my local pub stops doing beer I like and changes the menu, pies with my pint? Sorry no can do. The landlord explains the grand plans for a new menu, at some point in the future. In the meantime, it’s Carling and a bag of pork scratchings. I protest, but the landlord shrugs, it’s all going to take time. I decide to try a different pub, heard they do my favourite beer and I can get a pie with it! Some time later, I see the old landlord (he’d have emailed me but he didn’t have my email address) he says hey not seen you for ages, I’ve got the new menu and beer back on. I told him me and my mates liked the new pub thanks, the landlord can’t do enough for his valuable customers, I’ll be staying put - cheers.

The investment needs to happen quickly then, because with every day, every home game, opportunities are dissipating. Other businesses are getting on with it. The inertia is palpable, reasons for not doing things pour out, not only from the club, but from fans as this thread shows. When positive ideas are put forward, well it’s all too difficult a perpetual Groundhog Day.

We don’t have a CRM - ok when will we get one?
We can’t run functions because the kitchens need refitting. When will we have new kitchens?

I liked the Barnet Managers interview, they won yeah, but he wants more, now, not tomorrow now. He wants to win, now.

We could do with a bit more of that attitude from our new owners.

This is a game where tickets should be given away at supermarkets, in pubs, clubs, schools, mosques, churches etc etc. Not made difficult for people. There will be something in the region of 7-8,000 empty seats in the ground. Yet another example of a missed opportunity to grow crowds.

New owners, same approach from the club. As bad as gifting goals to the opposition.

I think Halifax result masks a trend, which is that teams have worked us out. Halifax we’re all over us first half, we scored against the run of play. Fax had to go for it second half, and the game got stretched, and because Fax had run their socks off second half, they tired, still mustered enough to equalise but we nicked it.

But, the trend is that all three results are available at kick off when we play, despite having better players on average than the opposing team. We very rarely control a game, whether the opposition is Barnet or Braintree, anything could happen. We’ve better players this year than last, so on average we’ve got a better points per game.

It’s a shame we don’t have any consistency of selection, yes we have injuries, but I’m not sure Jim knows what his best team is.

Maybe at some point Jim does get to select his best 11 with some consistency and they get the hang of the tactics he wants to use, and we do start to be able to get control over what pattern a game plays out, until he does results are just a lottery.

Dad has in his 80s - tried online, without success. Rang the number on the email, no answer. Went down to the ground, barrier down, so had to park round the corner. Walked round to the ticket office. Ticket office shut. Others wanting tickets left disappointed.

Absolute shambles of a club.
