Thanks Clive. I’m away for a few days holiday in the sun so didn’t see the match. Your report articulately summed up the reactions I was following live on the forum match thread and included a healthy dose of realism.

So pleased for you and all the dedicated fans who follow the R’s all over the country. It’s results like these that must make it bearable. Hope we are not all brought back down to earth with a bump on Saturday!

Just realised I was out of the country for the Luton win too. Maybe I need to stay away!

I did some work for the Premier League on disability access over several seasons between 2016 and 2022 and was very impressed by Steve Parish and his management team at Palace. Arguably more buy-in to the project from them than at most other Clubs I visited. Over the years they made lots of positive changes and struck me as a very well run club.

Varane - '...11 ball recoveries in this game, that bloke who used to paddle about in the river behind the old Shrewsbury Town ground would have been proud of a total like that'. Brilliant!

Spot on report and agree with you and the posters on the separate thread that the referee was excellent.

Fantastic film.

Roddy Doyle is one of my favourite authors and wrote the book. He then had help from comedy writing royalty Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais on the screenplay with Alan Parker directing. Well worth catching.

Interesting that Brighton had two keepers on the bench today as well with Jason Steele & Killian Cahill, the latter added to the subs when Dunk was injured in the warm up and one of the outfield substitutes started. This sounds like a similar scenario to the explanation Marti gave for us having two goalkeepers on the bench today.

Just did my Burnley prediction (1-0 to them) and realised the LFW Prediction League must currently be one of the easiest on-line competitions to enter. Just one click for the opposition score and you can leave our score and scorer on the default positions (0 and No scorer), then submit and you're done

Mind you a lot of those were in the seconds before Alfie’s goal at Sheff Wednesday. .

Agree with you though. We are having a huge amount of shots blocked and not benefiting from kind deflections, whereas defensively many of our deflections seem to result in opposition goals as per again last night.

As mentioned in your report though he did manage to bottle out of a challenge at the far post when we had a chance of a goal. Another poor performance.
