Fan Mobilisation - Nourry Out
at 13:16 10 Nov 2024

I suspect that most people on here hadnt heard of most of the players we signed this summer, I certainly hadn't, and gave Nourry and Co the benefit of doubt. There may have also been an assumption that he might know what he was doing. That doesn't actually seem to be the case.

I hope that you are right, but that would mean crediting Ruben et al with a level of competence that so far appears to be lacking.

In fairness, he broke into an amble on a couple of occasions.

This is a recurring theme at QPR. We're always one more transfer window, or change of manager, away from cracking it. We brought in a significant number of players into the club this summer and that really should be enough.

I agree with you on his inexperience. For me it's why the club shouldn't have given him the responsibility that he's got.

Going into the season with only two main strikers was always going to be a risk. Frey hasn't played that many games over the past few years. Let's hope that Celar can step up.

Is this on Nourry?
at 21:42 19 Oct 2024

There have been many, and I would count myself as one of them, who have long argued that at a club like QPR that churns through managers and has a "rebuild" every couple of summers there is a need for stability.

And part of that is having a director of football who leads on the ethos and direction of the club. But to do that you need the right person. And I don't think that the right person for that is a bloke in is 20s with neglible experience in football. Certainly none in coaching or playing. So I'd say that the structure could work, although debatable with our owners, but has no chance of doing so with the person leading it.

CEO and DOF. If the state of the club isn't on him, who else would it be on?

Agreed. A man whose only football experience was as part of a start up consultancy. Is there any other club where he'd be given a dual role as the CEO and director of football? Meanwhile the club will pay the price as he builds up his CV.

Maybe because nobody else seems to do it, and our club didn't either until Nourry arrived.

What we know so far....

Agree with most of that, but it's far too early to say that most of these previously unknown players are upgrade.

We do love to live in extremes.

I can still remember the 5th round FA Cup game against Millwall in 1995. I'd be surprised if I can remember the Millwall league game on Saturday that we sacked last night off for in more than a few months time.

Wouldn't it be nice to have one of those big cup nights at Loftus Road for a change amid all the drudgery of aiming to finish between 9th and 16th in the league.

Transfer rumours 2024
at 12:46 22 Aug 2024

I don't know that many people are having a go at them, but there are concerns about the reduction in the information that they give out regarding signings, I'm not aware of any other club that refuses to say how long a player has signed for.

Given the recent history of the club I don't think it's too surprising that this reduction in transparency won't cause some concerns.

Wasn't that in part because Nourry had made a comment that suggested we'd be unlikely to be making signings when he arrived? I can't remember exactly what he said but think there was something that suggested something along those lines.

Context.

Using your analogy are you really saying if a person signs upto a social media account they should just expect to be racially abused. That just seems wrong

If you are a famous footballer, singer, TV presenter, Boxer, whatever........Yeah, pretty much. Price on the ticket.

Wasn't it the case that Ferdinand was the one who cautioned the club against signing Richards because of the baggage involved in him coming back to West London?

Gaffer on today's defeat

I'm not sure he's shielding the players at all there. He's making it pretty clear that he was telling them all week that it was going to be a tough game and that they'd need to be up for it, but that they didn't manage it.

Interesting comments from MC in West London Sport tonight.

“We tried during the whole week to let them understand that this was a very difficult game – probably the most difficult game of the season.

“It looked like Sheffield Wednesday were playing for their lives and unfortunately I was not good enough to convince my players that today we needed that kind of intensity.”
