Only Perchy. He's trying to phrase it in a way that gives him an out, but realistically, "asking if we can do better" is basically saying that he wants a new manager no matter how it's put. |

Has always looked better when he doesn't have to go around the outside. He plays on the left or not at all for me. |

It will never, ever cease to be amaze me how many people can't fathom simple things like players being played out of position. MPH is not a winger. Abdulai is not a winger. We have wingers at the club. Proper ones. For some reason the boss likes to hang midfielders out to dry on the wing instead. In any case, MPH has done quite well despite this in recent games, but struggled today. Obviously this makes him the worst player in the World. |

Barring a bizarre chain of events, it doesn't mean much. Starmer's got five years and a sizeable majority to do basically anything he wants. |

That's twice you've claimed that Abdulai replaced Franco. Problem is Abdulai came on nearly ten minutes after Franco went off. Abdulai replaced Ronald. Had Abdulai replaced Franco that might have made more sense, what with them both being midfielders. |

As many goals as Piroe scored for us, his performance today was reminiscent of loads of his for us. He looked completely lost for the most part. Very much a "moment of magic" type that you have to accept isn't going to be heavily involved all the time. |

An entertaining game overall. As a rule we moved the ball well and with some decent tempo against one of the better sides in the division. Whilst it would be something of a stretch to say we deserved to win, a point would not have flattered us. Alas we were undone by some untypically naive defending. Leeds have in abundance something we sorely lack in pure, natural pace, and we went to sleep a few too many times against a player like Dan James. Disappointed, but not massively so. Play like that against most other teams in the division and we won't go far wrong. |

Our front three was made to look worse than it is during that period, that's for sure. When you attack with the pace we do, with the lack of creativity at the tip of your midfield that we have, your forwards are going to struggle. By luck or judgement in the last few games we seem to have found a setup that works a little better. Hopefully LW will have learned from that and not be tempted to repeat the same mistakes of October when Cooper is fit again. |

I don't doubt that once LW's preference was obvious finances were a major factor in us sending them both elsewhere, but it's hard to imagine that when you factor in what we laid out replacing them we ended up all that far ahead. |

The previous lot "cut everything to the bone" because we were losing more than £10m a season. Clubs can't keep doing that and not run afoul of P&S. This is the kind of thinking that I'm worried about. Suddenly people seem to believe that we're on easy street and can start splashing the cash. |

Ultimately it was Williams' wish. He'd made it pretty clear that he (somehow) preferred Cullen to either Yates or Myk. If he'd wanted to keep either of them we would have. |

48 appearances for us last season with eight goals and six assists. Not bad for someone apparently inconsistent and only capable of 20-30 minutes a game. He would absolutely be a cut above what we have in that role at present, but I would hope that we've got our eyes on someone younger. |

Have said before that restoring the Academy to Cat 1 status is probably the smartest move they could make IF the plan involves ongoing investment, at least in the short term. I believe the costs of doing so can be deducted from any P&S calculations. |

There are an awful lot of people out there who have never truly understood how expensive it is to run a Championship football club. For example, at the absolute maximum our total revenue from gate receipts is about £4-5m a season, yet window after window the ceaseless calls for "investment and ambition" begin. We must be averaging at least £10m a year in subsidy from ownership since Covid. |

They've spent 14 years in opposition watching the slow rise of Nationalist politics all over the Globe. They're probably trying to push as much as they can through as quickly as they can because they might not get another chance after this. |

As the old saying goes, "Invest in land. They're not making any more of it". How hard do you think it'll be for an entity like Blackrock to convert agricultural land into, say, a Solar Farm? We already know the current Government loves both them and net zero. How solid will the restrictions on land use be when the Govt is desperate to build millions of homes to contain an ever expanding population? |

I can't help but think that mentioning this "£20m investment" was a bad idea. There will be those who now expect us to dash out and spend millions in January, when realistically that kind of cash will just about keep the lights on for a season or two. Still, an end to the fractious relationship between supporters and owners is obviously a good thing. Down to Coleman and Co to deliver a club structure that looks like it knows what it's doing. |

What needs to be understood is that big Corporations like Amazon don't become big corporations because they provide services that consumers don't want. The death of the High Street could easily be reversed if people changed shopping habits, but they won't. eCommerce is the future. When the time comes (and it will) when people can basically 3D print stuff at home then even more retailers will go out of business. Imagine being able to scan yourself and print clothing that is custom designed to fit you. The technology already exists. It's just a question of scale. |

Don't get me wrong, I'm staunchly Republican, but people getting their knickers in a twist over what would basically be a rounding error when it comes to daily Government expenditure isn't the best argument against the system. |
| Forum Reply | Seventy Five million pounds for the Coronation at 17:40 22 Nov 2024
It's not a huge amount of money really. Around 14% of the daily NHS budget. For comparison, an F35B fighter jet costs about £90m. It's probably also worth noting that a lot of the money would have been paid anyway in the salaries of the service and emergency personnel who were involved. For example, £22m of it was Policing costs. |
