The one that gets me is the £5 billion Tideway tunnel super sewer thing. Is it open yet? There’s a few vague articles around on the internet saying it is “up and running” but in general very little is said about it. I’d have expected that they’d be making a bigger fuss about it. A bit of ribbon cutting by King Charles or something.
*Edit - Ok I just found a recent BBC article but again it seems quite vague.
I thought it was quite a good interview. Paal was thoughtful, considered and didn't give much away.
Better than telling the whole world that how Pompey played is quite effective against teams like us. Crowding out the midfield and pegging back the defence is exactly what you should do against us. Not allowing us to play a higher line basically which is when this team usually excels..
It's not an easy thing either takes high fitness levels and desire to do what they did. 2 very well taken goals too. We still should have got a point for me with three fairly clear chances I can think of off the top of my head. Not to mention the sitter that Illy missed from the halfway line!
I was thinking of Isidor and Sargent too. Apparently Trafford has only had about 20 shots on target against him in Burnley’s clean sheet run or something like that. So maybe it’s not just down to him but hard not to give him credit. I think they’re only one match short of our 25 game clean sheets from 2010/11 season now. See we do hold some good records too!
I remember Sir Les bemoaning the fact that they didn’t even credit players with assists when he was playing. If they had his total would have been off the scale!
The excellent documentary ‘Secret history of our streets’ describes how life was back then very well. They made 6 programmes about different parts of London, here’s the one about Portland Road W11.
