How does height determine whether he's going to be able to hold the ball up?, surely its more a question of whether he has good strength and ball control? He's the same height as Akinfenwa and i'm pretty certain he's got some good hold up play.

Its not all about Hogan though and im sure after looking at his scoring record its obvious why Hillys brought him in, id doubt its just to provide chances for everyone else to finish off. Without trawling through profiles im fairly sure COG wasn't at all tall either and a better first touch and hold up play than possibly anyone else that's ever played for us.

Graham Cummins on 12:00 - Sep 2 with 10053 views | D_Dale | A Graham Westley signing, and only 4 league goals at Preston in 18 starts plus 16 as sub .... even so, KH - is this the player he's been 'courting'? - is (usually) a shrewd judge.

Graham Cummins on 12:24 - Sep 2 with 9833 views | D_Dale | BBC Sports report implies 'desperate dale sign fringe player': "League Two side Rochdale have signed Preston North End striker Graham Cummins on loan until 2 January. Cummins joined Preston from Cork City in January 2012 and has scored five times in 39 games for the Lilywhites. However, almost half of those appearances for the League One club have been as a substitute and he has yet to feature in 2013-14. Keith Hill's Rochdale have not won since the opening day of the season and lie 17th in the table. "

That's interesting ; two of the best "value for money" forwards who've played recently in the Premier League are Kevin Doyle and Shane Long who both came from Cork and have similar stature and build . If your source was watching Cork in their day and holds the quoted opinion with them as comparators , then we could have a very promising player on our hands !

I'd reckon this is the player he said he was confident would be joining us, given how early the signing was confirmed. His text pest will probably be announced later, if it indeed happens at all.
