In a related post I stated we need to freshen up our support a little, and rossshaw (sorry for being a cock to you sir) said "well why don't you come up with something" so, why don't we try and get some things going? Some suggestions in here no matter what they are share them, we need to get some passion and fire back into our fortress, I like the "daddy cool" music for bony perhaps we could chant it too? I've discussed I'm not fussed on the michu one and its matter of opinion but aside mine or anyone's like or dislike for chants I just think we need to generate more noise?
"And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime"............one day we will all encounter the great gig in the sky!

If you went to Malmo you would have noticed that all the songs we sang before, during and after were old school.
Why?
Because the fans were old school! and the old school fans are the ones who know how to create an atmosphere, they are the fans who go to away games. Very similar to Man Utd - plastics at home games - lunatics at away games.
I'll probably get some stick for saying it, but the Liberty is a very plastic place these days, a lot of women and kids that you simply would not have seen at The Vetch. The new breeds sing songs like 'Greatest Team in Football', 'Depeche Mode' and 'We'll sing on our own', 'Miguel, Miguel, Michu', 'Swans will tear you apart'. Don't think I heard those songs sung once in Malmo.
To give you an idea of the playlist for Malmo, there was a lot of: Hymns and Arias Swansea till I die Take me to the vetch field We f*cking hate Cardiff City ML's barmy army Are you watching Cardiff Scum Den Haag song We're waiting for you Take my hand (in my opinion our best song) Walking up the mumbles road We are the Swansea boys We'll keep the Jack flag flying high 1 man went to mow
and even a bit of: Super Johnny Conforth Roger Freestone Oh Robbie Robbie, Robbie, Robbie, Robbie, Robbie....Robbie James
You tell me how many people at Saturdays game would know the words to all of those songs?
Creating new songs won't create a better atmosphere, returning to our old songs might help but I fear the days of creating a Vetch like atmosphere will never, ever return and we will only generate something close at away games. Hence, I don't bother with home games anymore and go to as many away games as possible.
"Take my hand...."

Good points above
Still gives me goosebumps remembering "I can't help falling in love with you" down the vetch when it was full with the big ssshhhh followed by the one long noise before starting.
Done a few away trips over the last few years and always on a gallon of ale by ko and tend to forget exactly what was being sung - just remembering the reason why I can't speak is I didn't stop as all the songs in full flow. Honestly don't make a lot of noise myself in the Liberty now due to where I sit .
This is Patches O'Houlihan saying "Take care of your balls, and they'll take care of you."

Hi all, i've come up with this song, its to the tune of 'gimme hope joanna' a tune that everyone knows. If we can get this going it will sound amazing from the liberty faithful:
The Spanish boys they came to Swansea, They say we play the game just right, But most importantly they know, South Wales is black and white, oh...
Give me hope, Jack army! Give me hope, Jack army! Give me hope, Jack army! For the Swansea boys,
Give me hope, Jack army! Give me hope, Jack army! For Laudrup and the Swansea boys.
And repeat...
What do you think? New songs bring with it new enthusiasm for the fans. I'm a believer that we are the 12th man on the pitch and when the players hear the passion of the supporters, that can give them that half extra yard they need to go on and win games.

I still think that the Guillem Bauza song could so easily be used for Jose Canas. I always thought it was one of those more humorous chants, it's simple and Canas has curly hair too.
