Four more released 12:29 - May 10 with 3969 viewsBrierls

No surprise to see Dele Adebola, Craig Curran, Sam Minihan and Luke Watson released. The current crop of youngsters look to be streets ahead of Minihan and Watson.

I thought watson looked brilliant start if last season but with the injury and now the signings of a few central midfielders can see why he's been released.

Poll: What are we more excited for?

He was meant to be the next best thing indeed....but obviously did n't fulfil for whatever reason.

Don't worry Trish, if he does ok elsewhere Hilly will be tracking him and we could have him back within a few months?

Mate of mine reckons he's too busy getting hammered every Saturday night in the Litten Tree!

As as for Adebola, at the time I thought it was quite a shrewd move by Coleman to bring him in. He'd identified that we needed a big man who others could play off and on the whole, we got what we expected out of him. I said "at the time" because I presumed he'd be on a relatively low wage, not one befitting a player you're gonna build your team around but I've since learned the sort of wages we were bloody paying him and it stunned me that a) they could get away with paying him that much and b) they thought he warranted that!!

and therein lies Coleman's budget problems from last season.

He wants Grant and Gornell.
He can't sign them.
He signs Adebola and Curran as alternatives.
Grant becomes available and he signs him.
Gornell becomes available and he signs him.

At least Curran and Adebola were shipped out, so the cross over wasn't for a long time

I was amazed when I heard what we were paying him. Taking in to account his age, I thought he would be on a relatively small-ish wage, it turns out it was every bit the panic buy people thought at the time. Even though he did a decent enough job, we'd have been better off waiting.

I dread to think the amount that we've wasted on wages for shite players over the last two seasons.

At one point he had Adebola, Grimes, Donnelly, Curran, Gornell, Grant and a non-playing Crainey (definately helping a mate out that one) on the books and, at the same time, he bemoaned the fact that he wasn't given the resources to sign a centre-back.

.......and he wanted to sign Franny Jeffers before he signed a centre back in January, I think that was the point when he board decided to get rid!

Yeah, forgot about him. Went to Acc (presumably on their say) and did absolutely nowt. Dodged a bullet there and then dodged a Uzi in full flow by getting rid of Coleman/Bell.

Hearing Hill talk about how much the previous management overspent on the budget, he appeared generally hurt at what has gone on with Coleman and Bell, it feels good to have someone in who we know will aim for success the right way.
