He'd built you a decent team by Jan 2012 - and your board cashed in on your top scorer - Hillys best out of there, Flicker will be gone before next season starts.

Totally agree about losing vaz te, we should have got more for him. But hill only sanctioned a one year contract and his agent held a gun to our head. The football post jan 2012 was totally unacceptable. His attitude was worse. There was no plan b. you can't blame that all on losing vaz.

Tbh the club and hill didn't match each other. Best of luck.

Did I call him a clueless idiot? No.

I merely stated he was out of his depth at this level.

He was Judas on here on June 1st 2011. What's changed, eh?

Not everyone held that view.

I think Wiseman would be better off a million miles away from Keith Hill. He ruined an exciting wing back, by making him play centre half, and playing him when out of form.

As for the winger thing, I find it extraordinary that you expect width. The bloke was obsessed with central midfield, or playing wingers central, strikers on the wing. We've been crying out for width all year. It's taken Flicker 2 minutes to work that out.

As for attacking, I wouldn't describe Keith's tactics like that. I don't call tippy tappy nonsense around your own box for the majority of games attacking. I call it suicidal, certainly at this level, when playing right backs at centre half, strikers on the wing and defenders in midfield.

Forget the TK dream, too. A player (one of many) that Keith brought in, then dropped never to be seen again. But only after playing him out of position.
The lad looks a class act as the left sided centre half in our back three, now.

As I've said already, I hope he gets your job, as I'm interested in seeing how he gets on and hearing what he has to say.
And if it goes tits up, then this place will be quality reading material.

Nailed on to get you in the League Cup again next Summer, again, again... :)

That's right, it was split from what I remember. Most BFC thought Wilson was a judas when he left but times a great healer. I'm sure if kh gets you winning again, no one will give a stuff.

The expected width thing Whitey is because 'width' was exactly what we got from day one.

Having said that, it may well have been down to who he had available. When you have someone like Will Buckley come through the youth squad, you play him.

When we were in league 1he did go a bit more 4-5-1 after Buckley departed so this perhaps is where he changed his thinking and ultimately why you never had width.

Ironically, width is everything that Dale fans have been clamouring for this season. We've got more out and out strikers than a 1980's coal mine and the only widish player we've had all season (when fit) was released last week.

Tbf, I think Wiseman and Done do have 'something' to offer us. In mean, look at Daggers, McNulty, TK and Marlon since Flicker got the gig and Mellon/Scott arrived. Perhaps we'll see a better Scotty Wiseman, Matty Done?

If they did though go to Rochdale, I'd expect them to light up League Two. I mean, have you seen League Two? Jesus wept. I find it an horrifying prospect that in 6 months time we'll be one relegation away from that alehouse division.
Perhaps I've been spoilt, that in my 25 seasons as a Reds supporter I've seen us in the top two tiers for 21 of those seasons, an FA Cup Semi, 3 FA Cup Quarters, Playoff Finals, a year in the Greed League..... ahhhhhhh. I best cherish those memories as it looks like trips to Yeovil and Crawley next season. :D

Oh, and Ricardo Vaz Te was a substitute for more than half of his time as a Reds player. Another good Keith decision.

I think we have to be a little careful about assuming its going to be Hill. I've no inside info at all, but bit worried that we're setting ourselves up for a fall to the extent that we'll be disappointed whoever else gets appointed. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it to be Hilly and will have my fingers crossed.

I know it sounds like I'm bitter, but seriously, Keith lost the plot.

I hope (God's honest truth) he finds it again, and gets you back on an upward curve.

If Flicker keeps us up, and Keith takes you up, then I'd be very happy.

As another thread says - Jim Gannon

like Hill recently dismissed, like Hill L2 experience and previous success at L2 level. I hope not though.

Hill, Knill and Gannon though are the obvious three candidates though in my eyes

Just for record, he lost the plot with us, in our promotion season!

Vaz Te was on the bench because he wouldn't have lasted 90 minutes on the field because he wasn't fit enough to play. Every other Championship club except Barnsley denied him even a free trial.

He was another of the 'broken toy' brigade heading for the wilderness until Hillcroft gave him a chance, but as soon as he got the sniff of a decent club, he was off.

I'm not arguing, but that's a rather kind interpretation of what happened. In fact, the players were mentally and physically exhausted. You wouldn't experiment with a new formation with exhausted players. Or throw away the chance of the first honour in the clubs history.
