Ten-man Baggies latest to trap QPR in low-block ball ache – Report on 22:03 - Mar 9 with 936 viewsNoelmc

Thanks Clive. Tough read.

Perhaps a tactic for opposition teams who go a goal up against up should be to get a man deliberately sent off, as we seem to have lost the ability to score against 10 men.

Noticed this a few weeks back but we are very predictable, and dare I saw boring to watch.
The lack of variation in our play I can only put down to one thing, the lack of quality at the managers disposal. Says something that the best way to get up the pitch is to either hit an aimless long ball or try winning throw on after throw on, inching our way up the pitch.

Its all gone a bit flat.

I found Saito really frustarting yesterday, kept trying that same trick to take it inside and run along the line and they just blocked him every time, summed up the whole performance in just doing the same thing over and over again. Someone have a bloody shot

I thought we deserved a draw from the game overall, they created nothing but can't really complain at losing when you have so few chances in a game

Also with you on the goal kicks, Cook is doing my head in with those, every single one ends with us giving the ball away and him blaming either Smyth or Dunne. Morrison needs to replace him on Tuesday

'Would QPR have scored if we were still there now and West Brom weren’t? ' made me smile grimly through the wincing.

Although the levels are clearly not remotely comparable, I thought what we did at WBA was very similar to Arsenal's performance at Man U yesterday (who also have injuries up top) and how the pundits saw it. Lots of pretty, intricate football around the penalty box; no end product/cutting edge. It's partly where we at as a club; it's partly because Cifuentes talks about 'learning' from it, but, as Clive's report makes clear with reference to our rap sheet here, doesn't seem able to. The ratios we can argue.

Poll: Playoffs?

Great read Clive. I think you do yourself a disservice. Playing with width and tempo and dragging your opponent around to create space is pretty basic but important stuff that you are spot on with, and we just can’t do it .
I thought at home that maybe the pitch is a bit small to do that but that’s just not true.
We arent able to do it and I mentioned before on here about our pre match warm nonsense.
Teams warming up in the other half must pizz themselves .

And in the voice and partial words of Neil from The Young Ones “sssh Rick , don’t talk about Kenneth Paal like that , you’ll get us all into terrible trouble “

Thanks for that, Norf. It was a difficult game to watch: I doubt it would be any easier to write up!

I thought at the time that we were struggling to Huff, let alone Puff, and certainly weren't going to be blowing anyone's house down playing like that.

Time-wasting? Based on the way we played, I'd say we wasted more time than them. Not a great game but there's always jam tomorrow.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'
