Fat Frank on 10:43 - Nov 28 with 2740 views | daveB | have to say I do admire Lampard and Rooney for at least having a go when so many players from that generation haven't bothered. He's not very good though, seems a mad appointment for them
Fat Frank on 11:59 - Nov 28 with 2550 views | LazyFan | Almost as mad as Brum sacking Eustice, who now has Blackburn chasing play off spots ... again! Fat Frank will get them playing a bit and then you know it will go super wrong. We also will have to endure the Fat Frank vs Roonys Green Army all on Sky live to get punters to watch that dreck.

Yes, agreed. At least they are giving it a go - they only got their original jobs because of their names, of course, but taking jobs in the bottom half of the Championship does prove they want to make it work. As much as I didn't like Lampard as a player, I find it hard to generate that much hatred as a manager - and I don't think his managerial abilities or record are quite as bad as people make out.
Fat Frank on 12:09 - Nov 28 with 2449 views | queensparker | Lampard over Robbins seems nuts. Without a series of young starlets to loan in from the Prem Lampard hasn't really done much anywhere | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Fat Frank on 12:11 - Nov 28 with 2436 views | Lanhoop | Tough to judge his management skills really. Derby, Everton and that lot are not exactly well run clubs who are easy to manage.
Fat Frank on 12:35 - Nov 28 with 2282 views | Jigsore | Coventry have a squad much better than where they're currently sitting. I'll grind my teeth to stumps if Lampard gets hysterical plaudits for getting them to 12th at the end of the season or whatever.

Fat Frank on 15:56 - Nov 28 with 1770 views | NorthantsHoop | This one might work out for him, but let's face it the track record of top level English footballers succeeding as top level managers and head coaches in the modern game is variable to say the least.

Maybe Nourry's read them and that's what he meant when he said he's been into football for years?! [Post edited 28 Nov 16:58]

Will be interesting to see how he does with an average Championship team. Think he will do ok and would expect a few highly rated Chelsea kids to turn up there in January.

I think that's what they teach them at the Veteran Managers Out of Work School. When you are rehired and are asked "Were you keen to get back?" Reply "I think Sandra / Joan / Debs was fed up with me being under her feet!" Then chuckle to yourself like Les Dawson.

Because he’s quite happy to be a ‘coach’ and comes with an expected black book of contacts at Chelsea. 100% Coventry will be in the phone to Chelsea on Jan 1st asking for South American FM Regen 1 & 2 on a free loan.
Fat Frank on 11:59 - Nov 29 with 370 views | Hoopstar | Crazy decision. Their owner said he knows what it takes to be successful in this division but he never played in it (admittedly for being far too good) and couldn't get a Derby team with Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori and Harry Wilson alongside a clutch of good to decent Champ players out of it. Agree Coventry should be pushing playoffs by their squad alone - but a crazy decision to hire him.
