Rest of the Championship thread 11:07 - Aug 10 with 58185 views | Hunterhoop | Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc? For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te? Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull. Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.
Rest of the Championship thread on 09:32 - Aug 31 with 5028 views | Doudou87 | Festy Ebosele went to Watford on loan, the Udinese connection working again. Very decent player, only 22 and over 40 appearances in Seria A. Watford might be one's to watch decent transfer window and might find some stability under Tom Cleverley.

Yup. Nice to see them finally return to their natural level after 20 years of over-achievement. Hopefully little Chrissy will visiting the likes of Northampton next season.

Willock doesn't care; this was all about the payday, and he's got it. He won't be playing Roberts next season, as even Northhampton will find him out; L2 beckons for Roberts!

The new stadium is going to debut in the Championship I reckon. They've been circling the drain once too often. I think Dyche will be sacked soon.

Rest of the Championship thread on 17:23 - Aug 31 by Toast_R | Will be slightly amusing if they finally go down in their last season at Goodison. Transfer window closed. A Calvert-Lewin injury away from it as well. Nothing against Everton, always liked them as a club. Losing 3-2 after being 2-0 up on 86 mins is a catastrophic defeat. . [Post edited 31 Aug 17:30]

At least they can’t blame the points deduction this season, although they probably will say it’s affected the club this season too.

Now there is a name I forgot about. If you told me he was still only 30, I'd believe you and if you told me he was now 40, I'd also believe you.

Barkley was 29 when they signed him, I was surprised too. I was reading about Harry Arter at the weekend. He joined Forest from Bournemouth on a three year deal in Summer 2020. He played 13 times in his first season but was dropped at Christmas and never played again there, though a clause in his contract triggered a one year extension when they got in the Premier League. In the first two years he played four games for Charlton in League One, then nine for Notts County in the National League, but no football at all in his final two years. Now at Precision FC in Dubai. That's the spirit!

I mean we've had a few examples of that ourselves - players paid so far and away above their actual ability by an idiot club that they can neither find another employer who'll pay them remotely similar, nor need to find one.

My secondary school English teacher wrote in one of my reports that I had finessed the delicate art of gaining maximum results from the minimum of effort. I took this to be a fine compliment, though I'm not sure it was intended to be, it was more likely a fresh way of saying 'could do better if he can be arsed'. But this guy is an absolute hero of maximum returns from almost no effort.

I’d tend to disagree there Lack someone to bang it in, everything else looks is good to me Millar is quality, the Portugeezer looks mustard, they’ve got pace and endeavour all over the pitch epitomised by their Captain As ever…. Just two strikers away from being the deal….. but ain’t we all? Wasn’t overly impressed with that Raki fella when he came on for Chef Utd. Certainly glad we didn’t pay the loan fee to Palarse based on the (limited) bits I’ve seen of him
