So Boris said “ there was hundreds of aides to thank for working through lockdown, I couldn’t ring them all so a reunion was the only answer”
Well you lying moralless arsehole, the very same month my Dad passed away, my mum who he was married to for 65+years was literally banned from leaving her care home and attending his funeral, along with many of his grand children , friends and other relatives due to a restriction on numbers.
Whilst all the time they are holding parties and gatherings in Downing Street,
I will never ever believe another word that comes out of any Tories mouth and will never ever vote for them again.

We didn’t exactly hit the jackpot as far leaders were concerned when the pandemic hit .
The idea that Johnson a, a pathological liar, a clown and so out of his depth as to be untrue was the chosen one was and proved to be disastrous.

Thrown in that other f** ing idiot Hancock and you’re left with a total Sh**show.
Still I have some sympathy for our electorate as the alternative was Jermy Corbyn who was popular among the trade unions and momentum.
He was never likely to challenge Johnson and didn’t.
I honestly thought Johnson was going to poke Hartman’s eye out with his nose growing, Pinocchio like with his never ending lies.

There is every chance that Labour would have won that election if it hadn't been for Starmer and his cohorts effectively refusing to campaign and plotting against him.
A read of the unredacted Forde Report and a viewing of The Labour Files: The Crisis, The Labour Files: The Purge & The Labour Files: The Heirarchy all available on Youtube which also has been recently added to with The Labour Files: The Forde Response.
This country has been cheated of a government which would have been no more "lefty", based on the political platforms many Scandinavian countries have in place, than many other countries. The whole besmirchment and character assassination of both Corbyn & Abbott is a sorry reflection on media and journalism in this country. For full disclosure; there are a number of things I fundamentally disagreed with Corbyn over but having read through his manifesto at the time, and more recently to refresh my memory, I would bet my house that we would be in better shape as a nation than we currently are.
A good question for PMQ's might be "Have international arrest warrants been issued for Michelle Mone and Dido Harding?" If not, why not?

The grass is always greener.

Any chance those morons are in fact anti Tory supporters. Just a thought

From conversations I've had with people I know who voted for the tories and Johnson particularly, I think it stands true.

When covid was happening, whatever criticism of the governments reaction was put forward the answer was mainly, well Labour would have been worse. When partygate broke the same discussions were met with well Labour would have done the same.

This was the typical response from some, (not all to be fair) but it made me I wonder what action would need to be taken for them to say, actually he/they have let us down here and although I voted for them, in retrospect it was a mistake. But those that take this stance seem to use this line of argument to avoid any personal reflection on how they used their vote. Their choice will always be better than the alternatives, no matter how bad things get.

Thankfully I've learnt to avoid having these conversations with fiends and family and try my best to change the topic of conversation if we're going that way.

Johnson's sense of entitlement is off the scale. Like some despotic medieval king, he regards the UK and its riches as his by right, for him to do with as he sees fit.

He has no conscience, no empathy and is a self-obsessed integrity vacuum.

Voters need to wake up and realise that whichever political party we are talking about, the key criteria are integrity and ability, not popularity and entertainment value.

Lockdown was a lot kinder to me than many of you on here, I feel for you and the losses you have suffered, but I can say that it's shocking to think that when members of my family and I were dutifully obeying the COVID rules and staying away from my elderly and newly widowed mother, Johnson and certain other entitled and privileged people were pretty much carrying on as usual. Unforgivable.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Naturally I sympathise with those who lost loved ones during the pandemic and were denied the opportunity to spend quality time with them in their hour of need.

At the same time I am disgusted that tax payers' money continues to be spent on these inquiries when the Sue Grey report was issued last year.

Boris stepped down as PM in the face of the allegations. Can all the money and time that is being spent on these further investigations into whether he lied not be better spent on more worthy causes ?

Can everybody please stop calling him, Boris. It personalises the horrible cúnt.

I actually know people who voted for him to be Mayor of London as ‘he’s funny.’

I hate him with a passion.

"Can everybody please stop calling him, Boris."

Can never understand this modern trend. It happened in Ireland, too, with Taoiseach Bertie Ahern (himself no stranger to lies, tribunals and hearings) instructing journalists to refer to him as 'Bertie'. It helps them to portray themselves as friends of the common people. If they truly were friends to us we wouldn't need telling.

The real tragedy here is that the rules were always daft and this scumbag Tory government enforced them but didn’t follow them themselves as they knew they were daft. Lets not forget Starmer and Labour were cheering along all these pointless restrictions and asking for even more but they were just as bad in breaking the rules:

This board was full of posters demanding more restrictions. But anyone who didn’t lose their head in the hysteria and panic understood that the rules were stupid and counter productive.

The Covid thread on this board was embarrassing. The abuse that people took for positions were now proved right. As an example, age and obesity being the key factors was shouted down as lies only with time to proven as facts

There were some sensible posters on that thread who took non-stop abuse and bullying from the mob majority on this board. It was predicted on that thread by those that didn’t lose their head that lockdown would cost more lives than it saved, it would bankrupt the country and inflation would follow which would further harm the country. All sadly proven to be true as excess deaths remain unbelievably high right now and today interest rates increase again as inflation sits above 10% with society’s poorest suffering most greatly from this

People are angry at Boris in part because they realise they themselves were wrong. Rather than specific measures to protect the most extremely vulnerable of protecting the most seriously vulnerable measures and the lockdowns were pointless.

Paying healthy young people thousands of pounds to stay at home, depriving children of education and the important aspects of socialising that goes with that was all pointless and many who didn’t lose their head and understood that were bullied. Not least of all on here on this board. As the middle class sat at home while the working class delivered them things or continued working in supermarkets.

Humans society understood natural immunity before they understood that the Earth was flat!!!!!!!!

But you had people kicked off this board because they understood that. While there were lengthy threads on this board that was endorsing banning the unvaxxed from Loftus Road. It is a proven fact that the vaccine was never tested on preventing transmission but the less educated who didn’t understand natural immunity or the likelihood of symptomless transmission and the relative risks of being infected demanded Big Pharma was given more and more tax payers money

The entire political establishment failed us and I sincerely hope the Tory party ceases to exist after this election. But hopefully as a society we don’t bully and silence those with differing opinions in a crisis as they may be right and the majority opinion may be wrong

I never call him by that name and deliberately so.

It's now going the same way with "Rishi" and it makes me sick. He's not as toxic as Johnson but his cabinet of right wing populists is every bit as bad, especially Braverman.

Suffering since 1978.

This ia a superb post and fair play to you for laying it out knowing you will get lots of feedback both positive and negative .
I think the lack of valid information from day 1 started the chain reaction of sh*t that followed and is still causing distress today.
If the medical experts had no clue and were advising countries to take those measures they have to answer but I am not sure if that is going to happen.
Nobody can agree on the origin even 3 years later despite compelling evidence it was man made .
I remember sitting in my isolation room for 10 days when I had covid back in 2020 and it fuc*ing my brain up thinking my lungs were going to shut down and I was going to die.
I was healthy ish with clean living lungs but you never know and watching tv just pushed me further into the abyss .
Not blaming anybody but the experts did not help out much IMO and carnage insued
Going forward I hope the lessons are learned for the next pandemic because it will arrive

I agree with you but any political party in power would have done the same. None of them would have orchestrated the tiered approach which you are suggesting. Also, interesting that one of the media in which the dictat was at its fiercest (the BBC) is now the very institution which does not allow one of its sports presenters to make political comments on Twitter.

The thing that amazes me the most is none of this is a surprise. He’s been a car crash in (very) slow motion for years yet still got to be Mayor of London, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Prime Minister. Three very high and coveted positions.
What does it say about his own party and the electorate that allows this to happen?

I really feel for LB and everyone else, including the Queen, who could not say goodbye to their loved ones properly yet he and others were partying it up.

I hope Johnson gets the book thrown at him but i fear he may just about get away with it, they always do.

And yet - some people would still vote for him.

Madness.

What parts of the post do you consider to be anti-science or anti-reality and what evidence do you have? Do you think dismissing a poster as "the forum's premier nutter" counts as reasoned argument? I take it you don't agree with his hope that we don't "bully and silence those with differing opinions" as that seems to be exactly what you are trying to do with your post.

Boris Johnson's attitude or lack of attitude to detail was exposed by Bernard Jenkin during the Parliamentary Privileges Committee hearing by the questions on gaining assurance over whether guidance to gatherings was gained from Civil Servants or government lawyers. Johnson said he used his political advisers for assurance, this will probably be what he gets done on, as the process for confiming legality of policy and guidance should be gained from officials and not political appointees.

Cheers Mikey. Was sadly predictable that Kensal Riser jumping into his familiar role of being a bully but adding nothing of value to the debate.

I don't expect to get any answer, certainly not any coherent answer from him but would love to get his view if he were to watch these two short clips.

Then this longer 5 min clip and let me know how you can maintain your position?

For background , Dr Robert Redfield served as the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the administrator of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry from 2018 to 2021

So when you say, "no compelling evidence the virus was man made, actually no evidence at all". In the context of that clip do you really feel your abusive and bullying stance stands up to scrutiny?

Kensal there is also plenty og proof now that the vaccines don't prevent transmission so there's definitely no 'gibberish' there either-

Thanks Clareman, I completely understand why you would have felt that way back then. As you took at face value what the mainstream media journalists were feeding out

Unfortunately the way to get ahead and progress your career in MSM is to support "the current thing", as in to go along with the establishment narrative. Some of this is conscious decisions made by these journalists and some of it is the system self selecting for either compliant types or people who follow/ subscribe to the "right" characteristics

It's disgusting the ignorant, close minded propaganda that the BBC, C4, ITV and Sky News spewed out during the crisis. Making people like you unfortunately take it as the truth and then becoming unnecessarily fearful as much as you were

When others do more considered research and take in a wider scope of opinions then it seems someone like Kensal Riser does. Next time, again, hopefully more people listen to them. And hopefully MSM journalists actually do their job properly next time, I hold out less hope their though

Facts slowly coming out but not that our media will show it or investigate it themselves

You didn't, I didn't and the government certainly didn't. Not even scientists really, knew the best course of action. The only thing to do though was listen to those in the medical field, doctors, nurses, scientists and have a safety first approach.

Actually you are completely and utterly wrong in your statement that, "No one knew what was going on or what the best course of action was"

And you're being disingenuous when you say, "get advice on a global pandemic from a football forum"

What was being done was that people were quoting sources that weren't being highlighted or used in MSM. In April 2020 there were posts on this forum citing data, I remember clearly at the time it being dismissed because it was collated by "a doctor from Rotherham hospital"

It was explained with sources that Covid mainly affected elderly and that for younger people it was extremely rare and the risk was shown for younger age groups in relation to things like the flu. That led to abuse. Just as you are dishing out now

After Bill Gates dumped his stock in pharmaceutical companies he though came around to the opinion that was being cited with sources and data on this forum in April 2020

There is a mountain of info out there disproving your statements and as today I have shown with reputable sources of this information that show that there were people who did know much more than you want to believe

If only people were less like you and didn't just bully and shout people down who pointed this out. Maybe then we wouldn't be in such a mess

There's enough people on both sides of the argument. Don't even bother with the bully angle and getting shouted down. It goes on from both sides. You are not alone in your opinion and yes there's plenty of evidence to back up what you are saying but thats not your point is it. You whole point in joining this discussion was for a good old fashioned told you so. When actually there's plenty of reasons why decisions where made at the time, that where right.
