Lyndon Dykes on 16:37 - Aug 19 by Myke | That's the one Karl, I think I may have called him Scott Dobbie previously in error. He was saying that QoS WERE a footballing team as you say and that he (Dobbie) benefitted from having the ball on the deck (something like 84 goals in 2 seasons, I think was quoted in the article). But he also said that Lyndon (first name now he's ours), thrived on longer balls over the top which he held up for Dobbie to do his thing. I really don't mind, It's great to have our own striker. I would try and caution against over-hype and unrealistic expectations if I didn't know how futile that would be. |
Understand Myke👠I saw figures where Lyndon played during 4 seasons with Dobbie but that does seem longer than I remember him there? Dobbie was a terrific player so his scoring would have been good with our without Lyndon but obviously had a good partnership. Lyndon will now be QoS record transfer fee albeit 2nd sale, previous record our own Andy Thomson when he went to Southend Utd, very interesting

A big step up, only had one season in the SPL, we'll see how he gets on. If i'm being honest i think he may find it hard. [Post edited 19 Aug 2020 16:58]

Ha ha we said this putting the video on at lunchtime today - God I hope it's a mix of both accents. AND IT IS! If we do end up pairing him with Hugill, will the division be able to cope with that much #bantz?

Lyndon Dykes on 18:43 - Aug 18 by Northernr | Watch how quickly the “never heard of him, over priced, SPL is rubbish, over paying, Ferdinand is an idiot” turns into “disgusting, lack of ambition, typical qpr can’t get a deal over the line, Ferdinand is an idiot” from exactly the same accounts if it doesn’t go through. |
Just imagine what those same bell ends would have twittered if we signed someone from Hayes or Yeading and then sent them out on loan without an appearance in a year to some Turkish club! [Post edited 19 Aug 2020 18:12]

Good luck to him We are still going to need a few more in imo Right back X2 centre backs Centre midfielder X2 strikers attacking midfielder who can play on the wing
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot

Lyndon Dykes on 15:37 - Aug 19 by DannyPaddox | From what I’ve seen if he scores from the edge of the 6-yard box it counts as one of his long-range efforts. Btw: that’s not a complaint. |
Idrissa Sylla's goals for QPR came from an aggregate total of about 20 yards.

I would say... Left back to replace Manning Centre Back to replace Hall DM as I don't think Cameron will last RW to replace BOS Striker / number 10 to replace Eze Dieng Kakay / New / Barbet / New New / Ball New / Chair / New Dykes That's scary. Seriously PP, you need to be more realistic. We don't need a RB, we have two (whether you fancy them or not is immaterial - they are not a priority. We don't need a cm, we have three (whether you fancy them or not is immaterial, another one is not only not a priority, it would be gratuitous) We DO need ONE cb and that is only if Leistner leaves, as we have 2 without him and Cameron/Ball/Kakay/Wallace can play there. Not sure if we need another striker, maybe a loan but again we have a number of options who could play off/with Dykes Thomas, Chair, Smyth, Ramkilde. We don't need attacking midfielders/wingers as we have Smyth/Thomas/Shodipo I deliberately haven't mentioned a clutch of academy players who could be on the brink of stepping up, important that we don't impede their progress to the first team squad, especially as that squad is now limited. * We may need a left back if Manning leaves as I am unconvinced about Hamalainen

Wallace and Cameron will miss half the season injured. I have doubts as to whether Niko, Smyth and Shodipo can cut it at this level... Let alone players who have never played any first team games for any club. George and Ramkilde are unknowns. BFG wants to leave as his wife wants to bring up their young children up in Germany. So you think we are going to last a full season with cameron, ball & Amos as our midfielders ? Where is the creativity ? A full season with Kane as a right back Wallace is always injured , barbet picks up injures so that leaves masterson & Kaykay as our centre backs , And we don’t need any other strikers as an inexperienced dykes and ramkilde will do the job having never played championship football Chair is not a player to play off a striker and Thomas is a back up player As for shodipo liked him a few seasons back but hasn’t impressed since injuries he needs a loan somewhere And we are expected to throw a load of youngsters into the first team without any experience Yeah makes perfect sense that we don’t need any more signings

We went through all of last season with Cameron, Ball and Amos as our midfielders. Kane, as I said yesterday, we may not like him, but he's got a three year contract and we've got Kakay, so I'd be surprised if we paid money to add a third right back to that mix, it's just not a priority whatever you think of those players. I think we'll get another striker on loan and they clearly want another centre back but anything else will depend on shifting Manning, Leistner, Eze and or Bright. Could be wrong.

If and when we sell Eze, Bright or Manning then I don’t see why we shouldn’t look to do better in positions we are weak in otherwise we will go backwards

Just because Wallace missed most of last season, it doesn't follow that he would do the same again this - quite the contrary in fact. Cameron, was available for virtually all last season. He missed a huge chunk of the previous season after being the victim of a nasty foul. His appearance stats for Stoke are very good when he was in favour. I don't expect him to be a regular this season, but there is no reason to suggest he wont be available. ALL players begin as 'unknowns', if they don't get a chance they will remain so. Again i think Ramkilde will be a bit part player, learning his trade from Dykes once the latter settles in, but important we don't block his progress. I suspect that if/when Eze and BOS leave, Thomas could get a good deal of game time. Shodipo is indeed injury prone and this is an important year for him, but there is no doubting his ability at this level. Big year for Smyth and Oteh too if they are to prove they can play at Championship level and both may end up going out on loan later on. I agree that Leistner is almost certain to go back to Germany and therefore we will need a commanding CB, but that, I reckon will be it.
