Yes they did. The EU withdrawal act has been amended twice in recent months to extend the A50 period.

The referendum was, factually speaking. But it’s an irrelevant point that remainers should stop making. On that I think we agree. You can’t put the genie back in the bottle. Invoking A50 required an Act of Parliament, but such acts can be repealed and/or amended and they are all the time.

It would be fairly controversial to repeal this one.

It would. I don’t think it can happen without a referendum authorising such a move but parliament does have the right to do it, what with parliament being sovereign and all.

Why should they do that though? If they don’t want to take votes off each other they should just merge to form one party.

Most people I know in favour of remain understand completely why people want Brexit (or think they do). It’s just that they believe that Brexit will not change the issues that have given rise to the discontent, and, indeed, will make it worse. Those in favour of Brexit won’t acknowledge or understand that position despite all evidence presented. Farage understands perfectly by the way - he’s using people. The great irony is that the pro Brexit leaders are actually the ones counting on a great number being thickie racist xenophobes.

"Tory Brexshit" as in it being a result of Tory party infighting. If Labour had a genuinely pro-EU leader highlighting the benefits of membership of the EU instead of a dim, closet Brexiter things may have been different. However, when you get simpletons coming out with arse dribble like "Just gerron wi' it, like" you wonder what the point of trying to educate pork is.

Have you noticed how many dyed in the wool Tories are suddenly the voice of the “downtrodden working classes” now that some of them agree with them on something? It’s nauseating when in the next breath they’ll be dismissing the same people in the most snobbish terms.

People are pissed off with the lies and spin of the two major parties! It started off with the dishonesty of New Labour and the Blair creature, not forgetting that gurning fool Brown ,then Cameron and Clegg with their lies and austerity followed by May and her incompetance! That is why Farage is seen as an alternative , people are fed up being lectured by an Old Etonian or a lefty fool like Corbyn. You can relate to Farage , how can you relate to Rees-Mogg, Boris or Jeeza ? The political establishment took traditional party loyalties for granted the shires are turning away from the Tories and the working class areas such as the North, South Wales and the Midlands are deserting their Labour roots. Now they are reaping a huge backlash, hopefully they'll get shafted, their arrogance got Labour and the Conservatives into this mess and that is why Farage will benefit hugely from this election.

They would be deliberately harming their representation in the EU parliament though. In the almost inevitable event of us remaining, some of these parties will have to wait another five years to get their MEPs in.

But in five years they’d still have a chance to increase their representation because the UK would still be an EU member state. Short term inconvenience for their parties for the long term benefit of the country. Aren’t we always asking our politicians to put country before party?

Funnily I see him as a cult leader in a way, but he is relatable in a way that the Tory hopefuls and Corbyn will never be! People have had it being lectured by so called intellectuals either on the left or right telling them they know better and failing time and time again. That is why Trump won in the States , he appealed to the average Joe in the street , whereas Hillary was a continuation of the same sort of politics.

Farage comes from exactly the same background as those you denounce as out of touch. You understand this is all a money making game to him. He’s a trader.
