Cousins back in training on 22:05 - Sep 7 with 3986 views | BrianMcCarthy | Good news. Hope for his sake and ours that recuperation is slow and steady. He's still a young man and has many years ahead of him if he's kept off the pitch until he's completely ready to play.

That's all that holds him up these days. We're seeking clarification from the league that he can use it on match days.

Well if he was fit tomorrow I suspect he'd be in for Luongo, given Manning's patchy start to the season.

Luongo will be involved in WC playoffs for the next 27 years as Australia take on Narnia and then fking Mordor because they couldn't finish in the top two above Saudi Arabia. If Cousins and Hall can get back to 100% we'll be a far better squad.

Yes especially as he is right footed and Manning favours his left.

I don't think that affect his availability for Rangers, though, Watford.. I know whenever Ireland don't qualify for tournaments (which is usual!) we just arrange friendlies instead so our players play just as many games as teams who qualify directly or who go into the playoffs.

Whether it's the length of the trip (Syria's home matches are in Malaysia I believe so he'll be in Malaysia and Oz for a week+ soon) or whatever, he historically struggles after these trips whether he played or not. It's the travel more than the game time.

He could do Scowen's job too though couldn't he? Assuming he was able to get back on form to the level of Scowen - a completely pointless exercise since Scowen is better than Iniesta, Mascherano and Roy Keane all rolled into one on steroids at the height of their careers.

Although Manning played well for U23s and then in his U21 international didn't he? Maybe he'll get a recall...

Cousins back in training on 11:11 - Sep 8 with 3370 views | Dorse | I hadn't really thought about it but the question of where he will play is a good one. - When he signed, I thought he was an attacking midfielder who played high up the field. - Jimothy played him out wide and he didn't look half as good as he did playing for Charlton. - Lots of folk seem to rate him as a defensive midfielder. In short, based on this, I have decided he could replace Wzsolek, Ngbakoto, Manning, Freeman, Scowen, Hall, Robinson, Luongo, Bidwell, Lua Lua, or Samuel. And maybe Furlong. But not Smithies. Alright, maybe Smithies.

The worst thing about "off the bone" injuries is that they're seemingly avoidable I.e. They don't generally just happen and are normally linked to existing injuries/weaknesses/niggles. Happened a fair bit over here a couple of years back with Aussie rules players rushing back from strains and tears.
