In our 6 games we have only played one team above 18th Barnsley (3rd) and lost that. We also lost at home to Preston (23rd) who have lost all their other 5 games. We drew with Blackburn (bottom) but have managed to beat Leeds (22nd) and Cardiff (18th).
All our goals have come from set plays.
Sorry to feel like a damp squid but somehow but it makes our position in the league feel false to me.
Mind you if we beat Newcastle all will feel rosy again

I've got a few pals that share your view. In fact one has made the exact same point about the standard of opposition. I'm not in love with Jimmy but he has played 6 games (this season) we are tighter and I believe more difficult to beat. I haven't got a sense of Ariel, Pawel, Idris, and even Yeni .To be honest all this cup is half empty check the evidence is tedious. | | | |

I would imagine that if we had lost to the teams we beat, then they would be a lot higher in the league.
Also, had we beaten those teams that we lost to, then they would probably be lower than they are.
All that to say, you can't pay too much mind to league position after 8 games. |  |
