I'd love to see Ayew as an option as a False 9, with Barrow and Routledge/Montero playing out wide just ahead of him. Also a good backup in Glyfi's position if something were to happen to him.

Llorente would of course most likely to be a starter up top, but it's good to have options and I can see a lot more goals in the team if we pull this off and keep our best players.

Ayew's been good for us as a real nine, why would you have him play false?

Aye 23 goals in 54 appearances real pants!

You can make up stats if you like to make you feel warm and cosy inside

2013/2014 - 34 games 16 goals. Good season

LAST COUPLE OF SEASONS LIKE I SAID.
14/15 - 31 games 7 goals
15/16 - 23 games 4 goals

They are league stats. Now if I were playing for Italian kings Juve or back to back Europa champs Sevilla I would consider my goal return pants.

Curt mentions it so it must be true...

But I thought Huw and our recruitment team mull these transfers over and scheme away in a locked room with no considerations to the thoughts of Guidolin, Curtis etc??

In all seriousness the team needs a lift so hope it comes off. Looks like he could do with a fresh start and 31 is by no means old for the type of player he is.

Think Guidolin said in an interview he's been experimenting with him playing as a false 9. Gives us a diamond whilst not sacrificing width, like I said it's just an option.

"[Llorente] is one of the players who has been mentioned," coach Alan Curtis."

Nice of Huw to "mention" it - discuss would have been better....

I'd be quite happy with Llorente as first choice with Ayew dipping in and someone like a McBurnie in reserve.

Seems more like people are expecting Ayew to be pushed out of the club than suggesting legitimate reasons he might go.

The managers by no means helped that situation by saying he doesn't know if Ayew will stay and it's not up to him etc. People have read deeply into those comments, forgetting he also said he was confident he will stay in the same interview. Not sure what people were expecting him to say because, realistically, can you be certain anyone will stay? And he's also right that it's not up to him whether he stays or goes. All the recent links surfaced after that interview. Don't think his agent helps either.

Bit tight of Huw not to put the 'leccy on for his unveiling but I hear we are saving up for Chris Gunter and Hal Robson-Kanu, so needs must.

The pictures on that article worry me.

The first one looks like he's trying to control the ball with his chin, then the second one looks like he is clutching his chin in pain.

I'm not sure if the two incidents are related but I would prefer a player who doesn't chin the ball.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

but following his chin-ing exploits and cry baby antics he recovers to bound across the pitch with his lil boyfriend like some big, happy, gay Mastiff.

I like this. We need goals, and Llorente has plenty of goals in him

I've said it before and I'll say it again - everybody was sceptical about signing Defoe due to his age, but look what he did for Sunderland... age isn't everything

Llorente would be much much better than some of the options we've been linked with.
