Fall on your sword.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Southgate has said he doesn't want it. Always did seem quite a sensible boy that one.

Fck knows where we go from there then. Foreign again?

Good for Roy, he did so immediately.

Him personally, i rather like. I think he's an intelligent and dignified man, which is a real rarity in the world of football.

His team, obviously, has been a complete fcuking humiliation though.

Do What ? dignified are you smoking something ?
this old fart had to be spoken to 3 times to give that shambles of a press conference
he thought his 5 minute statement was enough straight after the game and he thought he had nothing to answer to
well you do , you have wasted 4 years and a great chance of us having a positive tournament , you have conned England fans who spent thousands of pounds to be tear gassed and chased by mental Russians , he wouldn't even answer his poor squad selections or sh1t tactics
this chump was paid nearly 4 million a year
if he had 2 years left on his contract do you seriously think he would have resigned ? of course not he would have waited for the sack and the payoff
Hodgson is another spiv from the school of Arry

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Warnock for me, just so when they inevitably fail at least they'll get a proper bollocking.

Ive had 24 hours to think about it, and I will be quite frank with you Dave, the only reason I want Hoddle is that he isnt Southgate and we share the same christian Name.

hardly a compelling case , One must admit.

Sean Dyche is my choice. He's a savvy manager, knows the modern game and can talk the talk. Plus he's English. Surprised his name hasn't been mentioned.
I don't have a problem with Wenger taking the job. He's managed in England for over 20 years and partly responsible for changing the modern game. He doesn't like spending money on players so an international team job is well suited.

I wouldn't have Wenger nowhere near the England team
how many young English players has he destroyed over the years
Ox
Jeffers
Wright
Walcott
Upson
Wiltshire
Wellbeck
Pennant
Gibbs
Chambers ( especially chambers )
Jenkinson

all have either gone backwards, lost form, all suffered a crisis of confidence & played out of position under him , no thanks

he got lucky with Ashley cole as he was ready to bomb him out to Palace until Silvhinho found out he had a dodgy passport

Rafa Benitez or Sam Allardyce look like the only viable choices or see if Redknapps knee has got better

Wenger a specialist in bottling big games when the pressure is on, perfect for England

Boris Johnson not been mentioned yet!

Seriously though I'm still undecided between the potential Dream Teams of Gritt and Curbishley or Block and Parker.

Gareth Southgate for Conservative Leader.

Why not? It's been a mad 7 days...

I've got the Power.

Personally, as much as I would have scoffed at the idea of Big Sam a few years ago, I see the situation similar to QPR appointing Neil Warnock in 2010.

Plenty of supporters felt he was a bit of a tosser with a brand of football that was ugly to watch, but as it turned out he was everything QPR had been missing for years.

I’d settle for an England team that was beyond crap to watch but totally effective, really I would. Expect Andy Carroll will be pleased.

id be happy with Big Sam at least we would have manager who wouldn't take sh1t and a bloke who would have the balls to drop the likes of Sturridge, Rooney & Wiltshire,
I have a feeling it wont be sam and we will end up with Klinsmann instead

Big Sam could go for the poisoned chalice as managing Sunderland must be a bit like having that. I remember West Ham fans giving him stick but he got them out of the championship which many managers have failed despite budgets etc. He must know something about football though with the internet England has millions of football experts now.
0
Hodgson on 12:44 - Jul 13 with 1022 viewsCHUBBS

At the very least we'd be organised under Sam and the defence would know their jobs.
England need to realise we just can't play like the Germans,Italians,Sanish etc,we still aren't technically or tactically good enough so he'd probably be the best option until we develop our players to compete with the list mentioned above.

first off, i think the England manager should always be English. I think we should stand or fall using one of our own. It just seems right.
So that, for me, narrows it down to one of Dyche, Howe or Alladyce. When i first heard Sam could get the job I admit my heart sank but thinking it through, his teams are disciplined and play to their strengths. He is vastly experienced, pragmatic and strong-willed.Can't see him being talked in to playing rooney in midfield or taking wilshire. While his teams can be accused of playing boring football, when he had the resources at Bolton they were good to watch. He never fails, does he?
