A mistake, a combination of poor finishing, a good and sometimes lucky keeper and a very cynical opposition aided by a referee, who started well and got progressively worse. (as per the norm for him) He had lost control by the end. Haven't seen any replays or read any comments but Willock seemed to aggressively go after an opponent and swing out with his foot. If I am correct in what I think I saw, he is lucky to only get a yellow and not a three match ban.

Although it was a good comeback, we were only inches away from going 3 down when they hit the inside of the post. Weren’t good enough for fist 60mins and our stirring comeback possibly papered over the cracks a little.

Understand Stroud gets a lot of criticism but for me he did quite well last night.

R's fight back in the second half was excellent, inspired by Albert, but we had a few slices of luck: Billings shot which canonned off the post, Mr Stroud awarding us 21 free kicks (vs 7 conceded), then not red carding Willock, McCallum getting a lucky ricochet and deflection for his goal. But the luck may have evened up at the end when Travers made some great saves and once found a loose ball just dropping into his arms.

The obvious question is why are we conceding so many goals? Dickie has been superb, but maybe he's starting to believe the publicity about him being premiership class and getting over-confident. I like Ossie, but he was too often out of position leaving our right flank very exposed and going forward he clearly is no match for Albert. I watched on Sky and didn't see much of Ball doing the dirty stuff - perhaps I missed it. And too often when Bournemouth attacked we seemed to stand off and failed to mark tightly or cut out passes. Some of this reminded me of the first half of last season when it was clear the defence was an upgrade in personnel (Dickie, Dieng) but lacked organisation and didn't do the basics. That changed with Jordi at the back and Stefan in midfield, but I think there was probably a bit more work on defensive patterns in training. It feels that's what we need now.

Adomah yet again produced a match changing performance, even though it didn't change the result. And as so often the spirit to fight back and almost get a draw was brilliant, especially against a team stuffed with talent.

Entertaining seems to be the theme this season, and both teams made for a very entertaining game.

The frequency with which we're conceding is a growing concern, and we can't rely on comebacks or simply scoring one more than the opposition to win games.

Despite his wonderful start to the season, Dickie has had two consecutively error-prone performances (although, by his lofty level this is perhaps a little churlish to dwell on), and his mistake really changed the complexion of the game, after we'd started with un-Rangers-like sharpness straight from kick-off.

Zemura was the best player on the pitch. Completely dominated his side. It looked like it would be a good battle between him and Kakay, but it quickly became clear who would be coming out on top.

McCallum is proving himself a very adequate alternative to Wallace, and I think he was our best player on the night.

Dykes struggled to impose himself, and was forced to come deep a little too much, but once we slung a ball into the box, proved his threat with a solid header. And once we started crossing more, it became clear that they weren't too hot at dealing with them.

The flurry of Travers saves in the last 10 underlined that further, but really all barring the header from De Wijs, he should be saving.

Definite positives to be taken, and if we show that final 20 minutes on Saturday, we'll cruise to three points.
