Report: Dale 0 York 1
Report: Dale 0 York 1

Dale crashed to yet another defeat at home to York. Season over already, another pathetic display. Times up Simmo and Hoyland, you must go.

That's the end of the season then. Today was supposed to be the turning point. We had won in the cup confidence was supposed to be at a high, yet we put on yet another lacklustre performance, and let an average York side run us completely ragged. Pathetic.

I'm sorry to say but time is now up. Paul Simpson and Jamie Hoyland have completely destroyed all the good work that Parkin had accomplished. We have a talented squad who are going nowhere. The players don't seem to want to play and its just basically, crap.

To hear the boos at the end must have been devastating for those select few players who do care, mainly Neil Edwards and to a lesser extent Connor and Platt who worked their socks off today for no reward. 'Simmo Out' chants came from the Sandy Lane also, from the most hardcore of Dale fans. Surely time is now up.

As for the game itself, well Dale were outclassed yet again for long periods. York fully deserved their win and in all honesty could have had many more goals. Neil Edwards was outstanding and produced more marvellous saves. A true hero to the fans.

Dale created very, very little yet again. Connor struck a volley wide from close range and when in the box he was dragged all over the place by his shirt before connecting with a shot that clipped the top of bar. Should have been brought back for a penalty, but wasn't. Not a surprise with Cowburn in charge.

Second half was a similar story. Melaugh had a long range shot, and late sub Kev Townson forced Super Alan Fettis into a save. The York goal came from a corner. Free header, straight in the net. Woeful marking. Fully deserved goal though for the visitors.

Thats the end of it now, failure to change the management and setup now, or mark my words, we WILL go down. Anyone who thought Barrowball was good, then you will feel right at home watching this crap every week. Its just as bad as that was. Another dire performance. Gutless and pathetic.
