Ryan Bertrand Now A Permanent Saints Player
Monday, 2nd Feb 2015 23:03

Sky sports announced on the stroke of 11pm that Saints have announced that Ryan Bertrand's loan move to St Mary's is now permanent.

Saints fans will be delighted to hear that Ryan Bertrand is now a permanent Southampton player, the right back has impressed in his six months at the club and the sky sports announcement was soon followed by an official notification on the Club' official website suggesting that this was a deal done earlier just not announced till the last minute.

Bertrand has signed a deal that ties him to Saints till the summer of 2019 and it is good to see that Bertrand believes in the club enough to sign.

Ironically Bertrand will now miss the next three matches after his sending off against Swansea

Bertrand is quality. Shame about his behaviour at the end of the game on Sunday.
He is easily as good as Shaw and won't be tempted away for a while. As he, jose, Maya and hopefully Toby (if we sign him) can create a stable back 4 across a couple of seasons. This is a very smart move for our club. If we can keep Clyne we look like keeping and developing that awesome back line. We could go into next season with the majority of our defence and midfield intact. That would make next season truly exciting.

Good news, but not sure if he worth the alleged £10m asking price.

Hopefully we will not have to pay his wages for the next 3 weeks - due his red card :-)

That was essential so they could get the other lad on loan. Otherwise he would not have been allowed to sign on loan as we already had three loanees. Glad to see him permanent, he is quality.
