I believe that the last 3 Saints to play for England were Ricky, Crouch and Beattie. All #9's (strikers). Why don't Saints produce England players in other positions I wonder ? |

I'd pay 50p a pint more if they didn't play Ska, but that's just me.
It's rare to find a pub that mixes football with real ale; the Sky Sports places are 'Lager joints' so the Alex is a good 'un.
I'm not bothered about subsidising away travel as I make my own way there and make a w/e of it with friends or family in the locale of the away game (or somewhere in the way). What I object to, and have written to SFC about is how little notice we get.
Away tickets for Norwich go on sale 10 days before the game; WAY to late to by cheap travel tickets etc.
In fact I don't want the Club to subsidise Sean Ticket Holders to go to these games, I want a ticket ! I DID go to Sunderland, Newcastle, Villa etc last season, and will again this year IF I can get tickets.
It seems to be all or nothing, Season Ticket Holders is all the Club care about.
Shouldn't people who can be bothered to go to the other end of the country to support The Saints get some credit i.e. why count the 'easy' London games as 'showing your commitment' etc. ??? |

I no longer have a pair of season tickets.
Football is now (even at Saints) getting to the level of Opera or Ballet ticket prices (which are considered very expensive!) and those are not things that people go to twice a month+.
I pick my games.
I probably attend as many away games as home games.
As someone who's prepared to travel to Newcastle, Sunderland etc. I note their lower prices.
Personally I think that given the cost of travel, which is made FAR worse by kick-off times and even the DATE of games being changed which makes it hard to buy cheaper tickets in advance, 'distant' away tickets should be subsidised by the club. |

I use away games as 'excuses' to see friends and family spread around the country, not to mention visit some favourite pubs and drink beers that we don't often see in Hampshire. It's a fair trade, I'm prepared to visit in-laws if there's a game attached. Newcastle will be a great game, always is; the fact that it's only £26 a seat is a bonus. No way am I paying over 60 quid to see a league game. Maybe if we charged £26 a seat we could fill a bigger stadium ??? Anywa, back to the point:- I always watch the relegations and promotions with a keen eye as there are places I do want to go and places I don't. I'm happy that we're in the same division as Norwich, I just wish Ipswich could make it back up. As for West Brom, I could do with never going there again as long as I live. If you've been there, you'll know why. It's a worse dump than Gosport, which is saying a lot. The atmosphere at away games it always top, with vocal Saints Supporters, unlike the many 'spectators' we have at home. OK, that's there choice, no-one has to sing and chant if they don't want to, but it's great to be with a lively Saints away following. |
