Cook was on crutches leaving the stadium earlier. Didn’t look too happy at all. Could be a lengthy lay-off. Thankfully we have some players returning and Morrison’s emergence… not great by any stretch of the imagination, but could have been catastrophic a month ago!!! …does that leave us with three left footed CB’s + Dunne? |

Thought Frey’s movement to create the space for Field was equally brilliant. |
| Forum Reply | Where are the "Nourry out" comments now ??? at 23:04 21 Dec 2024
It’s soooooo much more complicated than a few wins. Nourry clearly has some ability - in terms of intellect, nurture and contacts. He’s not stupid. He’s started his role as CEO and DOF aggressively making some quite sweeping decisions. Many but not all of the decisions he’s made have been sensible - a number of them have been reckless and immature. Communication being one - a young guy who sees the world in black and white / binary - in his mind, why should he communicate with the supporters - I am speculating, but do we think this extended to comms with key stakeholders in the club such as Marti, Ruben Gandhi, Euan Inglis, Jason Cham, etc? maybe? It’s clear that someone more senior put an arm around his shoulder and gently suggested that he needs to practice the grey / non-binary side of leadership to underscore the undoubted brilliance that he has. I hope this has been a quick learning kerb for him and that he embraces mixing science with art in his leadership style - Let’s see, but let’s not ignore the fact that during his learning-kerb he is fortunate to have a head coach as capable as Marti and a fan base as supportive of Marti. It could have gone a whole load worse in other circumstances. [Post edited 21 Dec 23:10]

Just need one more year out of cook to allow us to bed in a replacement, which we seem to have found! |

He’s a steady left back. Jake Bidwell type. We’ve missed not having him available. |

Agreed… it’ll allow time for us to settle in a new centre back pairing with Cook as the steadying factor during the transition. |

As players are added back in after injury, combined with the fast wake-up call for the newbies; we could be looking far more positively towards mid table mediocrity by January. Great that we now have something to look forward to with the return of our core players (thanks to the announcement from the club)! |

I was sat with three neutrals and four watford fans in a hospitality box near the rookery stand. - the neutrals and Watford fans felt QPR should have won and have some really good technical players - they and the Watford supporters nearby liked the look of Saito. - they were equally confused about the approach of having your tallest player take corners. My observations from the far side; - it seemed a strange decision to start Paal and then inevitably have to take him off on 60 mins when he tired for Fox… This coincided with Baah coming on for them and he tore Fox a new one. Personally, I would have put Ashby at left back to try to keep pace with Baah. - the QPR fans didn’t stop singing - really impressive and came across loud and clear (duly noted by the neutrals). My other observation is that looking at the quality of hospitality at Vicarage Road in what is essentially a similar size stadium with similar constraints; there is very little reason that QPR can’t replicate as Michael Drain and calfordseaden have identified. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I bet we’ve spent more on strikers (Dykes, Bonne, Frey, Celar, Etc), than the £5m we would have needed to have kept Wells here four years ago… and collectively they have probably scored less over that time combined than he has at Brizzle. |

Shirley that’s a matter which is answered through the harsh realities of life experience and not probability. [Post edited 23 Nov 12:01]

Yes - that goes without saying, but I’m not for bashing them for eventually doing the sensible thing. |

A tiny ray of hope as Martí seems to imply a couple will return after the international break? Clarke-Salter, Paal, Colback, Frey and Chair?… if so, I would implore the CEO relax his zero-comms approach and let the fans know. It would be a real shot in the arm. |

Plenty more that can be said about lack of communication from the club, so given I’ve started; hold my coat as I’m going back in… My daughter is quite a ‘baller and I emailed the club back in July to find out about when the girls’ team train and play as I was wondering if it was worth her trialing next summer. Nothing back. I followed up and still nothing back. I appreciate U13/14’s girls football is not their priority but this lack of engagement is alarming and could be a clue as to why the club continues to miss out on local / fan based talent. I’m not suggesting my daughter is the next John Barnes, but QPR would do well to think on their past mistakes as a matter of principle. Meanwhile, my daughter, at 12, is playing for an U14 team in the Sussex league and is enrolled in the Brighton pathway academy. BHA are a fantastic club with a great set up. They offer free football sessions in most East and West Sussex towns for girls and boys. They then offer holiday clubs for selected kids and then look to bring a shortlist of kids into their pathway academy. Kitty has been blitzed with Brighton kits and training gear, photos, programmes and has played on the pitch at the Amex in a tournament. In September they gave us tickets to watch BHA v Ipswich as a well done for her hard work in training. It’s no wonder they are so strong and so we’ll set up - a club with a true identity. Her favourite women’s team is… BHA (shame on QPR). Meanwhile, QPR can’t even be bothered to respond to a 4th generation QPR supporter! As a box to box midfielder, the QPR men might benefit from her - and btw, what would Chloe Kelly say? [Post edited 9 Nov 11:15]

Worse still, I commute into London five days a week as I am one of the owners of a firm of architects, engineers and surveyors which has more staff and turns over more than QPR, so I appreciate the importance of communication with my staff and my clients. The last thing I want is to waste a Saturday or Tuesday evening at Loftus road if the reward is so poor and the supporters are so undervalued. |

I appreciate that it’s been said before but I feel i need to join the echo chamber. It is absolutely essential that QPR provide some communication to the supporters around a number of matters, but injuries in particular. Unfortunately I have bought a season ticket, but I now have no intention of attending any matches until things improve. I am sure that I am not alone and this could be extremely damaging financially to the club as this bleeds through to non-season ticket holders which it will inevitably. If the club were able to communicate that we’d have a rally of first teamers at a certain point, I would feel less disengaged and more committed to bear with this short term situation. As it stands, I feel disengaged and frankly have no interest in the 4 hour round trip to watch 90 mins of slop that these wasters are serving up. I appreciate that Nourry has his ideals as to how to run this club but he is demonstrating his inexperience and youthful arrogance with every passing day of silence. |
