Not about cutting it how I like, simply illustrating the stats this season. For example, since Novemberwe have gained 16 points from ten games, so the form has indeed dropped slightly since earlier on in the campaign but still play-off level form. Not wanting to be right about anything - as stated, the issues and concerns are very valid - but we can’t use stats to support one argument without looking at others that might offer an alternative view. The averages, if they don’t lie, say that McNulty has improved season on season and he has a side that averages enough points a game this campaign to make the top seven. Right now, looking at our form and how we have structured our squad, I’d put averages and stats aside and worry more about whether we can address the problems. [Post edited 12 Feb 19:28]

League win percentage this season: 50% Points per game this season: 1.65. Which would see us end up on 76 points. The debates around the manager’s tactics and selections are valid. The concerns are getting greater too. But the stats show a visible improvement year on year. |

Yeah the record breaking goal was against Salford in a league game, having, ironically scored against the same team the previous month in the EFL Trophy. There were also other goals in the Trophy after they let in u21 teams, including one against Sunderland u21s. [Post edited 12 Feb 17:04]

Then we’d have to wipe out his strikes in the EFL Trophy, making his much celebrated record breaking goal against Salford a non-event. It’d upset Ethan Brierley too. |

No, that’s the issue since day one. If the NL couldn’t see a problem with a team who wear blue having a black away kit and a dark grey third kit in a league containing ourselves and Southend, then it illustrates a lack of concern on their part. |

We should turn up in blue at Halifax next week and make them change for once. |

Interesting changes. Transparent communication is most welcome. |

Regional cup tournaments exist everywhere. I don’t like this competition, but it’s no different to the EFL Trophy, both are national competitions. Anything else is down to personal preference. |

Probably the best set of results we could have hoped for. |

Southend having to wear their third kit due to Halifax’s three kits all being unsuitable against navy blue. Kick them out of the league. |

Halifax two down at Southend. We need to find some results again in these next two away games to ensure the games in hand can then be capitalised on. |

McNulty is being given a break, most points about what’s wrong are valid and have been all season. Nobody can argue rationally about all the positives. The lack of tactical flexibility during games is down to him though and reasonably easy to address. He hasn’t so far. |

It does. We’ve needed steel all season, especially in midfield and as an option up front. But the comparisons to BBM don’t. |

All for debate and identifying the obvious deficiencies of Dale teams past and present but can’t ignore factual inaccuracies. Andrew appeared plenty of times under BBM and Aaron Wilbraham featured regularly too. He also employed Jake Beesley in the Vincenti role on the right at times during the relegation season. We went down that year because BBM was unable to find a defensive structure to see out games we should have taken more points from. As illustrated by the fact we scored 61 goals. This is no defence of him as a manager, he failed miserably because that squad should never have been relegated. [Post edited 9 Feb 21:02]

Not yesterday I can’t, there was nobody in the Willbutts and they could have been stored the other side of the wall to stop players trampling on them. It’s the small things. |

If what McNulty said yesterday about the uncertainty of when the rest of the competition will take place is right, then there is no reason whatsoever to play on Tuesday if there’s any chance the pitch will suffer further. |

That opening line is something that really needs focusing on. That we aren’t changing formation to at least make the opposition think differently is infuriating. Imagine if the last two games we did go to a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2, or even a 3-5-2, then Oldham and Ebbsfleet would have had to react accordingly. As it was they could remain in their positions knowing the only thing that would change is the personnel. That tactical inflexibility is holding us back, no matter what type of football we play. |

If we’ve spent thousands on them, is it so hard to store them somewhere other than along the touchline so that players are trampling all over them in boots to get the ball? There’s a whole stand there that isn’t being used and leaving them where they are can’t be the best way of ensuring they remain in top condition. If nothing else, they are in front of advertising boards that companies have paid good money for. |

Woeful. Until we start showing some tactical flexibility with the formation mid-game there’s no doubt we will continue to make it easier for opponents Why not take off a central defender? Go to three in midfield? Try a 4-4-2 as alluded to elsewhere? Something, anything to mix it up and make the opposition think. The lack of ideas when attacking is a real concern. |

Henderson for the last half hour or an already ineffectual Rodney who was clearly struggling to get into the game? There is no explanation that will make sense for that change not occurring a lot earlier. |
