That's where our new ground will be.

Respectfully disagree. If existing South Africa Road stand is extended over the existing pavement at 1st, 2nd 3rd Floor Levels as current elevation, I believe we could accommodate all of the above plus reinstate rail seating to South Africa Road lower tier and get our capacity up to circa 22/23k.

With numerous road closures in Wormholt adjacent, another option would be to reduce the current unnecessarily wide South Africa Road (or even partially close as it is lightly used cut-through that Councils are currently keen to close) to provide a bigger footprint for us, maybe even moving the pitch a couple of feet to create a bit more space in front of the Ellerslie Road stand.

It's walkable from White City and it must be possible to put in another station on the Overground.

Plenty walk from the Pavillion before every game no problem.

Bombonera style, sure pitch has been dropped there and that's a really tight footprint - altho not sure Boca's ground would pass a single safety check here.

Interesting thought but you’re basing that on being a given we’d get permission to do that.

Encroaching closer to the White City Estate buildings will have an impact too and probably quite a lot of objections.

We can all design the perfect scenario but having that pass the myriad of planning laws etc is a massive undertaking and hurdle.

Fair points but it's a good distance still from White City block opposite so if rights of light are not adversely affected, it's within LBH+F's gift.

Will there be mirrors to see down to the pitch or will we switch to 5-a-side?

With your suggestions, you may squeeze another 4K on the capacity and improve the facilities in SAR but this is all rather missing the point that the stadium will still only be used twenty three days a year and laying idle the rest of the time, still having crap facilities in the rest of the ground and still costing a small fortune to maintain.

Guessing but sure facilities can be improved in other 3 stands (or Lower Loft could access South Africa Lower facilities as in the days of in-game stand 'transfers') plus how many outdoor events are there to go round, Premier League income dwarfs hosting a Barry McGuigan type fight or an NFL game. Ground sharing with a Wasps (or Ealing Trailfinders) is most realistic option if we can improve our facilities as above. Our location is in our favour.

Get rid of the exec boxes and go back to how the paddock used to be would get capacity to around 20k that’s about it .
Expanding East Acton station as surrounded by houses and not enough room to expand it with out CPO being used on them houses , local residents will also kick off big time if we was to try . This isn’t going to happen anytime soon so no point getting excited or upset about it , board screwed up big time and we are looking at the second worst option Aval after the car giant fiasco

Generating non matchday income from the stadium is more than just hosting a one off boxing or NFL match. Having conferencing facilities is important. These can be used every day of the week and not just by businesses hosting corporate events but by people hosting wedding receptions/birthday parties etc.

Davman mentioned earlier in the thread about being at St Mary's during the Euros where 400 people were in one of their suites with table service watching the England/Scotland game. How much would that have netted Southampton? At a rough guess a minimum £25k I reckon and that's just a one night event. We haven't even got anywhere within the ground where we can hold our POTY dinner.

Interesting(ish) discussion on here regarding the possible expansion of Newcastles East Stand. Probably trickier for them to do that than for QPR to extend the SAR stand??? They interview the owner of the listed building directly behind the stand (4 minutes in) and he seems willing to sit down with the Newcastle owners and council and to discuss options for maintaining’right for light’ whilst still expanding… Seems to have his head screwed on as he realises the benefits a larger stadium would bring to the area… Helps that he’s a Newcastle fan tho.

Given that those building are listed and they're nice looking buildings, if Newcastle had any sense they'd find a way of incorporating them into a new stand being built, entrance to and incorporating hospitality perhaps, it would add character.

I personally think the option of us perhaps working with Ealing Trailfinders and building a new stadium on their current site could make sense.

They could opt to groundshare with us at LR for 3 or 4 years, whilst their current site is redeveloped, and then we move with them.

think on their current site, we could get 20k-25k.

Why not incorporate shops inside the "tunnel",in an arcade type environment?Like the ones at Bristol Temple Meads station.

Those buildings are good looking. The street though is half the width of the South Africa Rd, really can't see any way of expanding that side without demolition.

For those who've only experienced Newcastle on a match day, it's worth a trip up when the fans aren't around. Take a wander through that part of town. The Leazes is a wonderfully maintained park.

If the club wants to find a decent site for a new stadium, then it will probably have to be outside the borough.

I personally think somewhere around our natural catchment area, so potentially somewhere like Greenford, Ealing, Action would be ideal.

I think weve got no chance of getting Linford Christie sadly, i think that option is pretty much off the table now with the way things are going.

Adding extra capacity on such a crowded footprint brings other issues into play. How easily can you evacuate in an emergency, e.g. Bradford fire.
Removing exec boxes to allow 2_3000 extra fans paying bottom prices doesnt make economic sense.

I cant see anything other than a complete change of site.

As much as I'd love a gentle 10 minute stroll to our home games, I can't see that site ever being a goer. Transport access is really poor for 25k.

to be fair you have got four or five stations within about a mile or two mile radius as well as buses, so public transport might not actually be too much of an issue.

Im surprised the club havent looked at this more, its in an area where loads of QPR Fans are, and Ealing rugby club need a redeveloped ground too.

surely it makes sense for both of us to form some kind of partnership and redevelop it into a multi-purpose venue for both clubs to use, 20k could be feasible.

Are there any other sites that we could look at? surely there are some the club could be looking at outside w12

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the CEO needs to follow Les out of the building so we can start again with making a thorough, open-minded and professionally engaged re-evalution of the site development potential of Loftus Road, with full fan consultation, before any further overtures are made in respect of Linford Christie or anything else. Though I would much prefer we stay at LR for reasons I have explained multiple times - the most important one being the preservation of the 'soul' of the club, now that football has sold it in virtually all other particulars - I'm not (quite) such a nostalgic that I wouldn't be prepared to listen to the case for redevelopment elsewhere. Nevertheless, the case for such remains contestable.

from memory, SAR was built to its maximum height allowance, given the proximity of White City Estate so no room for movement there.

I believe that’s also the case for the other three stands.

LR is a non starter.

But if we have a new CEO they could investigate other options, like digging down.

Aside from a general need to "modernise", I thought that the reason we "needed" to move was to generate non- match day income by hosting conferences and other events, but could not do that because there was no parking space and insufficient square area for meaningful conference space,

If that is the case, why haven't they built an area for all that at the training ground that we own?

Can we go out yet?
