Lower Loft Renewals... 14:17 - May 22 with 30920 views | Southend_Rss | My mate sits in NL and has had an email saying that he has to move unless he has a child with him next year. It's to do with making it a new family stand.. Anyone else sit in the lower loft and had an email from the club?? That's gonna cause problems trying to relocate surely..

The lower loft has been a family stand for about 3 seasons yet I've never seen 100s of kids in there so where are these kids coming from ??

Lower Loft Renewals... on 18:59 - May 22 by Gloucs_R | Hardly. I've already said that I only think 3 blocks should be the family section. It does make me laugh that some grown men are attached to a piece of plastic that they sit on 19 times a year. Bizarre. I want to take my lad when he turns 4, the only part of the ground I would take him to is a family section. All teh club is doing is taking us back to being a family friendly club and ensuring the next generation doesnt end up at Fulham. |
You were asking how much it cost to get in earlier.
Lower Loft Renewals... on 20:23 - May 22 with 1864 views | hamptonhillhoop | Actually mate, I am attached to the piece of plastic I've sat on for he past seventeen years with my father. My cousins will be able to carry on sitting there as they have children in their group. The vast majority of the people who sit around me who've been there as long if not longer, won't as their kids have grown up and are over 16. They still go as a family, they just won't be able to sit in the family stand. Anyone got a seven year old available to rent?
Lower Loft Renewals... on 20:26 - May 22 with 1859 views | loftboy | Throughout the 80's my season ticket was in R block then in 1990 I was told to move as it became the family area, didn't give it a second thought just bought a ticket in south Africa rd. For those advocating the paddocks there are two problems, 1 you get wet when it rains, 2 the kids that currently sit there usually end up offending adults with their colourfull language. I've been in the paddocks since 2004 and there's a lot if characters in there that probably don't fit into the family stand criteria.

Lower Loft Renewals... on 20:36 - May 22 with 1832 views | BasingstokeR | Swearing can't be the main or one of the main issues - are they saying people in qualifying "family groups" do not swear, therefore moving these people solves the problem? How about they just said they were enforcing a zero tolerance policy in the family stand and offering people the "deal" to be able to move out if they don't have a kid in their party? The whole Lower Loft is also too much (which is why they've never enforced the rules throughout a season properly) They are doing it for other more important reasons imho
Lower Loft Renewals... on 20:39 - May 22 with 1821 views | cheeseydane | Kids will hear 'colourful language' no matter what the set-up. On the one hand everyone wants the atmos, intimidation from the crowd to help the team along, but also theres a desiree to want this 'holy ground' where kids will be immune from it. Cant see how thats possible tbh, and as said before, whenever i go, the kids language is more colourful than the adults.

As said before, some of the worst offenders for swearing are people with kids, there's some belters in my corner near the paddock. I Remember in 1995, Bloke sat in front of me every week with son in a QPR jesters hat. We went down, they were the only ones that weren't there the next season. Probably went to Chelsea or fulham. Or just wanted to get away from me

Leave them alone. We have the best board in years and all people do is moan. So what if people have to move, they don't own the seat. The board are trying to encourage more youngsters to support Rangers, how else do we compete with the likes of Chelsea for new fans? If it's not the badge, its the seat, if it's not the seat, it's the thin hoops... | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I really believe that this is an over reaction by the club because of what happened at the fulham match with the tiger cubs and a number of our older fans reacting to fulham colours being worn in our home end. Not going to get into to rights and wrongs of this now but wouldn't be surprised if the club was planning more of these cross promotions in future. In fact as a family stand does that mean all families, meaning away fans as well as QPR fans will be able to purchase tickets to sit there?

Lower Loft Renewals... on 17:48 - May 22 by Essex_Ranger | Yes other established clubs have a family stand....BUT...it isnt the main stand behing the goal is it? This is like Liverpool changing the KOP, or Man U changing the stretford end, or West Ham changing the Bobby Moore end......all stands behind the goal that generate atmosphere! If they need that much space how about only giving away fans including london clubs the top tier and change the school end lower into the family stand? or would that mess up the minimum we have to give clubs etc? Glouc R, when you moan continually that everyone else is moaning is that supposed to be ironic? Here's an idea, how about I take your seat if its such a great view and you move somewhere else in the ground yeah? |
It's not your seat, you don't own it.

Nobody is immune to critiscism, or surely when the stand if half empty next season and you can't get a ticket for Man United or Chelsea you won't mind cos you don't want to upset Beared Amit or Tony (who I think this is mainly the doing of) First things first I've sat twice in my life in Lower Loft and once was the Oldham Beamback in Play Offs year. Secondly I've never been a Season Ticket Holder so this will only affect me in an indirect way. Firstly it will take away a lot of atmosphere especially behind the goal which traditionally was a hotbed area of the ground (any ground) so we will lose something of the aggression yuou got against Chelsea last season for example. Secondly it is in a sense decreasing the attendance in a direct fashion. I am not sure how big the lower loft is directly but I do know that the Loft as a whole is the biggest stand (I was surprised when I first learned this) This means there will be less tickets available so other parts of the ground will fill up (in part with many current ST holders who have to move ergo leaving those of us who can't afford STs but want to go when suitable/possible less tickets and we won't be able to purchase tickets in Lower Loft and presumably not Upper Loft either. Meaning many fans will be squeezed out cos they ain't got kids or don't want the have a ST for numerous different reasons. Way to increase your "Brand" there Tone. Oh and finally lets come onto the kids themselves, given you must have an Under 8 with you what happens to the 9 year olds plus who must move, not to mention in the long run pay Gold prices so maybe many will not be able to gpo after the age of 8 so you mcould end up losing genrations that way instead. Still as long as we don't upset Tony and co hey! BTW I like alot of what they are doing but this is a very silly and amateur mistake to make, in my view if you go to football you hear swearing this pussyfooting around keeping kids in some sort of bubble is nonsense and for the most part kids like the kanguage and stuff gives them something to tell their mates at school. Fckd up here Board.
Lower Loft Renewals... on 20:58 - May 22 with 1759 views | daveB | it's not about being attached to the plastic i am sitting on it's about the people i sit with and have been going with since i was a kid. My Dad and his mates, their kids all of us now grown up and i'm the only one so far with a kid of my own (I am the oldest which explains that), we've sat together for years, drunk together for years, gone to away games together for years. basically been one big family but thats now over. One of them has been told to move as he Dad opted to sit in SA Road last season, the rest are hoping they are ok as they still sit with their Dad otherwise my son is about to get a lot of new Uncles and Grandads. it's also about the view, i like watching games from behind the goal and have no intention of moving to stands with a worse view, less toilets and no leg room I'm all for having a family stand but the stadiums not big enough to give all of the lower loft over to this and for midweek games, those 5.30 saturday night games and those west ham and chelsea games we'll have a lot of empty seats.

I saw that Fulham incident you mentioned, and again thing is there were Dads with kids shouting stuff - its not just teenagers or people that don't take their kids that swear. And there's far too many people on Twitter at the moment decrying people's right to be slightly upset at the prospect having to move, with very little justification. There's hardly anyone having a full on go at the owners from what I've read.

Wouldn't you be able to get a seat in their by virtue of your cousins, might be worth a chat with the box office. This seems to he a real tricky situation because the idea of the family area is a sound idea but practically Loftus Road isn't the ground to implement it. By far the best area to put a group of kids is the lower school end but you'd need a permanent canopy to separate the away fans. I guess if nothing else people should be greatful that the owners are looking and planning towards the future.

who's throwing abuse at the chairman? I've written an email to Phillip Beard which i didn't fee was over the top or abusive in any way, i just asked why they are doing this and told him how i feel it will hurt the club rather than help us

My cousins actually spoken to the box office today and they've agreed in principle to do it, so I'll probably be alright. Otherwise I buy my eight year old daughter a season ticket she'll never use, or get a friends kid who's under 8 to be my patsy for the year. Either way, there'll be an empty, unsellable seat
