Swansea Trust statement on twitter/x 11:37 - Jan 28 with 1265 views | QJumpingJack | The past few weeks have been incredibly challenging for fans and everyone associated with the club. Poor results, lacklustre performances and speculation surrounding approaches for our head coach and more recently our captain have had a demoralising effect, particularly among supporters. Fans are also rightly concerned that we are headed for another disappointing end to the transfer window and what knock-on effect that may have on our status as a Championship club. In short, those of us who passionately follow the club are understandably becoming increasingly frustrated, concerned and discouraged by recent events. Club Chairman Andy Coleman and the new ownership group have stressed their commitment to repairing the bond between the club and the fans, emphasising transparency and open dialogue as central to that process. In our dealings with Andy Coleman and the wider board, we have no doubt that they genuinely believe in these principles. However, despite our repeated calls for a Fans Forum over the past few months, we have been left disappointed by the lack of progress. As an organisation, we wholeheartedly believe that all fans should be given the opportunity to regularly hold decision-makers to account and scrutinise the strategy implemented by the board. That’s why we have again urged the club to fulfil their responsibility to supporters by confirming a date for a Fans Forum – ideally as soon as possible after the end of the current transfer window that closes next Monday 3rd February. Going forward, we are calling on the club to commit to holding at least two Fans Forums every season, with those dates agreed at the start of the season and honoured without fail. Without this, many fans will justifiably conclude that the club only believes in openness and transparency when the results are going our way. If Swansea City is to be successful, we need more open communication, a clearer strategy and a willingness to provide transparency when we need it most. That way we can perhaps begin to feel that the club and the fans are once again pulling in the same direction. In the meantime, we will continue our conversations with the club and will reveal more details about a Fans Forum when we have them. And a final but really important few words from us for now. We are very aware of a number of personal attacks, vile insults and even death threats that have recently been directed towards many people involved with Swansea City, including their families. We accept and understand that scrutiny and criticism come with whatever roles we play to try and make Swansea City FC something we can all be proud of. Passions are obviously running high at present and sometimes we may not get it right. But to hear and receive some of what has come into the club and the Trust over the past few days is unacceptable, will not be tolerated and has absolutely no place in society.

They also have £1.3m in a current account doing nothing and should explain how they mitigate against inflation. I suggest they sponsor the women's team shirts or similar. Obviously the abuse of club officials is totally unacceptable. [Post edited 28 Jan 14:12]

The Trust should be applauded for the fans forum. Lets remember in 2017 - our previous owners attended and were honest about the sale / transaction in 2016 when they were told not to engage with the Trust. It is incredible that they said this at a forum which was being recorded (and is still available on YouTube).

The reason is clear. The Board member stated their shares were not for sale and never would be. That is on record from multiple publications. Not only that but despite ths fact that Huw had stated they could no longer survive with zero investment and new money was needed the Trust stated that new money was not required and there should be no need for a change in ownership. This as the start of the problems. They had already chased away one investor in 2015 and made no plans for selling their shares as this needed a mandate from the members taking several months. In my opinion had the Trust been informed earlier there would have been no sale as with the 2015 offer. The sellers put the clubs best interests first. The Trust are there for the perks not the best interests of the club in my opinion. If they had the best interests of the club at heart they would have increased vested in the club more than the paltry £200k. They have taken out £1.3m and gave no idea how to invest it. It is dead money. [Post edited 28 Jan 16:27]

Absolutely mate, all day long. But please don't poke the resident trust troll he'll get another couple of pages bleating away. As soon as I saw the thread headline, it was obvious who'd be first in the queue to bleat.

If people post that the Trust were in any way mistreated I will respond. You will not find this on any other inferior forum where I would be banned or was banned. The Trust believed they were mistreated and tested it legally and after 6 years surrendered £400k our of pocket . Silverstein organised an off ramp for them as they represent paying s customers who were sold a pup. He kindly covered their legal bills. Levien and co have also sold the club at a fraction of its value. They will make huge profits on FC United and Swansea loses will be tax deductable. .

The Trusts legal bills were around £400k. They had ran out of road on their legal case and not surprisingly declined to go ahead as the cost s were prohibitive. There was a deadline approaching. There was no point in those dastardly American running them into the ground as they represent the fans. Silverstein seemingly a real nice guy and networker asked what they wanted (5% protection whatever that means?) and gave them £500k. This covered the legal costs. In my opinion they did not need to do this and could have left them to their own devices. It was a kind act to which the fans are oblivious. No one on here gets points for thanking the Americans as the team has dropped a league. It was always going to happen at some point. [Post edited 29 Jan 8:14]
