Apologies if there is a transfer thread I'm opening a thread for the January transfer window which has now opened.
Who should be a potential signing for us and who should move on either via loan or permanently? I've heard Kyrell Lisbie & Gus Scott Morriss mentioned as potential targets but could they potentially make the jump from NL to L2? Some players do but others don't.
Plus actual transfers that we bring in & out can also be mentioned here. |  |

A lot of Southend fans are gutted about this (as we were with JT).
I think it's time the FA/EFL brought in a rule that if you loan out a player for a season, you cannot then loan them to someone else.
Fair enough if you need them to cover for injuries, but if some club has been prepared to take them on a years loan and give them game time to improve them, you shouldn't be able to rip up that deal and cash in on the improvement. | | | |

According to transfermarkt he's worth £350k so Luton would never get anything like that sort of transfer figure for him. As that is the sort money a championship club would pay in a transfer fee and no club in that league would pay that for a striker who has scored no goals in a season.
And if he is released as may be the case depending on how long his contract has left to run then I imagine he would likely leave on a free. Then its just the wages to be sorted and agreed depending on who goes for him.
Agreed its unlikely he would join us but sometimes players have to go down 1 or 2 leagues to find their true level.
I do agree however that we need LT back sooner rather than later though as he is a much more reliable goal scorer than Hopper could ever dream to be. |

Sounds like Luton will get their £3 million for Joe Taylor! From Pete O'Rourke on X Huddersfield Town are set to confirm the signing of long-term target Joe Taylor in a permanent deal from Luton Town. Luton deserve everything they get this season. They have behaved appallingly towards Taylor. Difficult to fathom when they are playing poorly and their performances are so disappointing.
Anyway if nothing else it finally secures JT's future.
Now we have to make our signings to get us up to the top seven in this wretched league.

But he could be a shrewd signing if he can continue his goalscoring form as he definitely has an eye for goal and isn't shot shy.. | |

Yes O’Rourke mentioned that on X yesterday, it would seem several other league 2 and National league clubs are looking at Daniel too. He does seem like a decent prospect but so did Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe and Dan Holman! [Post edited 10 Jan 10:38]

His loan back in 2017 didn't really work out, but how about Nicke Kabamba at Barnet - scoring plenty in the National League. Already on 12 in all competitions this season, scored 32 and 19 in the previous two seasons. Would he be tempted though, given Barnet are in the hunt for automatic promotion? |

Kabamba played for us years ago on loan but scored no goals. Could be a bit of a gamble for them tbh as he scores for fun in the NL but his goal scoring record when he has played in the EFL has not been good so far. Though that could change if he can continue his form that he did at Barnet. [Post edited 11 Jan 10:44]
