If our pitch inspections are anything like our player medicals then I’m not surprised.

Has anybody heard from Stowmarket? What’s it like out there my man?

Was as much a structural inspection as it was pitch.

Poor old place is creaking I think 🤣

I know we're all treading with a little more caution these days, but that is four pages and NOT ONE broomstick gag...

QPR always seem to do well when the mum in law comes over. She’s not been here for two years….. crap results, she’s flying in as we speak and we win 3-0!

As we were heading to that glorious win I was watching the flights coming into Heathrow as well as keeping an eye on what we were up to (multi-tasking) and there was a worse go- around than the one I put on earlier - about 4.25 and I was thinking I hope your MIL wasn't on that one. The planes were coming in almost sideways anyway and this BA plane had gone around already but the second attempt looked really bad.

Working today, wearing my QPR bobble hat, irked a few of my customers, then whilst in Leiston I have a hit a branch of a tree and smashed my windscreen! Parked up in the rain and wind awaiting recovery, meanwhile all my customers have come to me for their shopping so double result.

Ex-QPR player David Wheeler (remember him?) has written this very good article on how female footballers are speaking out on issues outside of the sport - particularly around climate change - and encourages the men to do the same.

It's well worth a read: Female footballers have shown us how – let’s build a sport free of fossil fuel deals https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/dec/08/female-footballers-have-shown-u

All ok thanks. Landing was ‘fun’ apparently, but she said she just closed her eyes and hoped for the best. Pilot probably did the same!

Yes my friend took a flight to Tenerife yesterday from Birmingham - he had a perfectly good ticket for Tuesday but circumstances persuaded him to go early. I watched it take off and thought it was ok but no, he said it was the worst take off he'd ever experienced and he's a seasoned flier.

Well I've managed to get on a train from Littlehampton. With the wind behind us, I expect to be in Clapham Junction in about 20 minutes

Well that was a pain in the backside getting home. Victoria was chaos with delayed and cancelled trains, but eventually managed to get on the 21.05. Just before east Croydon they announced the train wouldn't be stopping anywhere after Burgess Hill and would go straight through to Littlehampton (good for me) but anyone going to anywhere else would have to change and get on the Brighton train.

Of course I stayed on because they said it was going straight through to Littlehampton. Happy days, or so I thought.

Pulled into Gatwick, only for the driver to announce the train would be terminating there because of a tree on the line. This is about 20 minutes after the same driver had announced that the line was now clear.

Anyways, gets off at Gatwick, and goes to find a member of staff to ask when the next train to Littlehampton will be. He says you're not getting to Littlehampton tonight, to which I reply, well any idea how we're getting home then?

He then, and I kid you not, shrugged his shoulders and laughed (quick Starmer, give em another pay rise). Admittedly I snapped at that point and called him a pr××k, which was more than deserving imo.

Anyways, eventually we were all told to go to platform 6 and get a train as far as Horsham. Off we all go up stairs, across bridges, down stairs to platform 6, where we will have to wait half hour to get a train at least heading in some sort of right direction.

And wait we all did until just as the train pulled in, on platform 3. Mad scramble up stairs, across bridge, down stairs to get on this heaving train to Horsham.

Get to Horsham, and eventually, freezing cold and knackered, manage to get a train to Arundel. Only problem here was we then had to sit on the train just outside Christ's hospital for over an hour with no explanation.

Managed to get a taxi from Arundel, and got in at god knows what time.

And you know what? It was all worthwhile to see our first home win this millennium

Was supposed to be going to Belfast at 9.45am today.

Last night BA cancelled it and the only option they offered was 7 am on....Tuesday.

Seems a bit much to have some flights take off on time, or with an hour or two delay, while some other travellers are getting a full two days of a delay.

That'll teach me for only being a blue level member...

Watched a big A380 go overhead earlier and it was certainly moving about a bit.

My brother had a similar story getting back to Bournemouth. He was told to get a train via Reading to Basingstoke and then get a cab all the way to Bournemouth. He ended up in Winchester with no station staff in sight. He asked about a cab and was quoted £150,but he got an Uber for half that cost.
He managed to make last orders in his local spoons.

I wonder if the poor sods who got off at east Croydon for the Brighton train are still there.

Anyway, I wasn't so mad at the cancellations or delays, it was to be expected with the weather, but more so the complete lack of information, wrong information, barefaced lies, and poor attitude of the staff.

At least your brother made last orders

Find it amazing how many people are suddenly experts on subjects they barely made it to secondary school level on. Imagine someone going into their work place daring to tell them how to do there job..

I accept that people should be skeptical especially in complex situations but to hear some people speak its like they are the bloody experts

I haven't got a football coaching badge - what gives me the right to question any football manager?
Should we all meekly agree with Neil Ferguson in the future? The scientists should never be questioned, right?
I agree with many green initiatives and in Britain becoming sustainable in power creation, but question everything.
Oil companies aren't the only ones motivated by ££££

Totally spot on.

If an insulation manufacturer sponsors a scientist £500k to see if thicker insulation might be advisable what do you think their findings might be?
Oil company paying you £300k to research their impact on the ocean….. ooooh who knows what your papers might take a slant on????

I’m in no way intelligent but I think I’ve got a bit of common sense, inquisition and free thinking so I make my own mind up on things by n large.
Look to history and sometimes it might predict the future; not always but can help. It might not fit the agenda but I remain steadfast that climate change is just something our planet has always done, she’s a tough old boot and has reinvented herself countless times over millions of years.

There’s every chance we’ll kill the Earth - just look at the dickheads with their fingers on the doomsday buttons. Now for me THAT is the emergency

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

I’m not really sure it’s a debate is it? I was reacting to a post which dismissed human influenced climate change because the climate has always changed! How is that debating anything? Maybe we have different opinions on what a debate is.

On the subject of football, there are some on here who are able to break the game down tactically and present their reasonings in amazing ways that I for one wouldn’t be able to, the higher up the league the wider the gap between my understanding of what’s going on tactically and the top managers understanding. Doesn’t stop me commenting on it but I wouldn’t exactly be on firm ground to tell them where they are going wrong.
