Week 28 results

LUTON TOWN 1 SHEFFIELD UNITED 3

A first away win this season for United. Nobody got this spot-on, and only Moor_Pinot had the outcome. 23 predicted a win for Luton.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 0 BRENTFORD 2
Ivan Toney scored his third goal in four Premier League games as Brentford clinched a deserved victory. Again nobody had this spot-on, and only bwildered had the oucome. 22 predicted a win for Wolves.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST 2 NEWCASTLE UNITED 3
Bruno Guimaraes' sublime second-half strike helped Newcastle to a victory that moves them up to seventh. Only Moor_Pinot and basher2010 got this spot-on, and a further 19 had the outcome, with a mammoth 13 going for a 2-1.

BLACKBURN ROVERS 3 STOKE CITY 1
Blackburn get a first league victory in two months, as Stoke lose a fourth game in a row. Well done to BFG for being the only one to have this spot-on, and another 20 got the outcome, with a massive 14 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score.

CARDIFF CITY 0 PRESTON NORTH END 2
A third successive home defeat for Cardiff, as Preston maintained their push for a Championship play-off place. Well done to noah4x4 for being the only one to get this spot-on, and further 12 had the outcome.

BLACKPOOL 1 OXFORD UNITED 1
Despite this good draw, Oxford extend their winless run to five games. 4 had this spot-on, and nobody got the outcome. 19 predicted a win for Blackpool.

READING 2 CHARLTON ATHLETIC 0
Nathan Jones' first game as Charlton boss after a year out of management ended with defeat by their fellow strugglers. Another game with no 3 pointer, but 10 did have the outcome.

WIGAN ATHLETIC 1 EXETER CITY 2
Gary Caldwell enjoyed his first return to the DW Stadium as an opposition boss after his Exeter side recorded victory at former club Wigan. Well done to gerry_us for being the only one to have this spot-on, and only Blue4U2 got the oucome. 21 predicted a win for Wigan, with a big 13 going for a 2-0.

AFC WIMBLEDON 2 BARROW 0
Wimbledon kept up their push for a League Two play-off spot thanks to a dominant victory over their fellow promotion chasers. Only basher2010 and gerry_us got this spot-on, and another 6 had the outcome.

WALSALL 0 NEWPORT COUNTY 3
Newport earned a fourth straight League Two win as they comfortably beat Walsall. A final game this week with no 3 pointer, though 4 did get the outcome.

Yet another poor week, where form doesn't seem to have much relevance to results. Only Newcastle and Blackburn were obvious winners, but even their victory's were difficult to get spot-on. In fact I don't think any of this weeks 11 spot-ons were easy to find, so well done to those who found one, especially the two members who managed to get two. They were basher2010, who had the wins for Newcastle and Wimbledon, and two outcomes, to make him the weeks top scorer with an excellent 8 points. Also gerry_us, who got the wins for Exeter and Wimbledon, and one outcome, to give him a decent 7 points. Best of those to get one outcome were unitedwhites, Daniel, bwildered and Colukev, who each had the Blackpool 1-1, and four outcomes, to give them all a decent 7 points.

U'sual Champions League Just a reminder for those who have yet to post their predictions for this competition. The deadline is this Tuesday 13th February 20.00.

In the Premier Three outcomes for concordman maintains his lead, but it is cut by a point, as blueeagle gets four outcomes. Four outcomes also for Sector4, and he remains third. The decent week for unitedwhites moved him up three places, and back to fourth again. Three outcomes for RSCOSWORTH keeps him in fifth. A fourth week without a 3 pointer drops thrillseeker to sixth. His lowest position this season. A sixth week without a 3 pointer drops mfb_cufc into the bottom half for the first time since Week 11. The rest of the division remains unchanged, but a welcome 3 pointer for noah4x4 moves him two points nearer safety. A 3 pointer also for Moor_Pinot, will give him hope of escaping. In fact he has now moved 6 points nearer to safety over the last 4 weeks.

In Division One The decent week for Daniel made sure of him being top for another week, but the excellent week for basher2010 reduced his lead by a point. The decent week for bwildered moved him up a place, and back to third again. Two outcomes for Jorash63 drops him a place to fourth. Up a place to fifth is BFG, his highest position since Week 18. This means the final play-off spot is occupied by Lewis_1. For the fourth week running Tropical_Us remains seventh, and within a point of the top six. Another decent week for Colukev moves him up a place to eighth, and to within 2 points of the play-offs. Four outcomes were not enough to stop burnsieespana dropping to his lowest position since Week 16, but he is also still within 2 points of the play-offs. The decent week for gerry_us was not enough to move him up, but eases his chance of obtaining a trophy.

THE TABLES (204 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
