Happy League 2023/24 Week 28 (of 38) - Deadline Saturday 11th February 15.00 20:46 - Feb 3 with 3379 viewsmfb_cufc

Week 27 results

BURNLEY 2 FULHAM 2

David Datro Fofana scored twice on his home debut, with the second in the 91st minute, as Premier League strugglers Burnley came from 2-0 down to draw. Well done to TheRams for being the only one to get this spot-on, and another 8 had the outcome.

NORWICH CITY 2 COVENTRY CITY 1
Borja Sainz's late goal gave Norwich victory, as they came from behind to beat 10-man Coventry. A massive 9 had this spot-on, and another 2 got the outcome.

BURTON ALBION 0 LINCOLN CITY 1
Ten-man Lincoln ended a nine-game winless run, thanks to Reeco Hackett's second-half goal. 4 got this spot-on, and a further 3 had the outcome. Ex-U's loanee Joe Taylor was only on the bench for Lincoln, and never got on.

FLEETWOOD TOWN 3 PORT VALE 0
A comfortable win for Fleetwood takes them off the bottom of League 1, as pathetic Vale only have one shot on target. Well done to BFG for being the only one to have this spot-on, and another 6 got the outcome.

PETERBOROUGH UNITED 2 WIGAN ATHLETIC 3
Thelo Aasgaard starred as 10-man Wigan completed a fine double over promotion-chasing Peterborough. The Latics arrived at London Road as the only team to beat Posh in their last 22 League One matches - and they did it again thanks to the Norwegian's scoring exploits. No points for anyone from this game, as 25 predict a win for Peterborough, with 10 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most preduicted score.

STOCKPORT COUNTY 1 HARROGATE TOWN 1
Harrogate take their unbeaten run to five games with this draw. Well done to durham_exile for being the only one to have this spot-on, and only TheRams got the outcome. 23 predicted a win for Stockport.

Things don't get any easier, in fact they get worse, as this week was the worst one so far this season. Not surprising as the "good things" Peterborough and Stockport both fail to win, bottom of the table Fleetwood win 3-0, Burnley come from 2 goals down to get only their fifth home point. Lincoln win for the first time in ten games, despite playing with 10 men for 71 minutes, and it was left to Norwich taking advantage of Coventry going down to 10 men, to give us over half of the weeks 3 pointers. In fact, despite the surprise results, the total 16 spot-ons was not a bad effort. Division One came out well on top again by winning that 12-4. But it is the poor return of only 20 outcomes, that lead to it being the worst week so far. Three members did well to have two 3 pointers, with the best coming from BFG, who had the Lincoln 1-0 to go with the good Fleetwood 3-0 prediction, and durham_exile, who got the Norwich 2-1 to go with his good Stockport 1-1 prediction. They each also had one outcome, to give them both an excellent 7 points, and a share of being the weeks top scorer. The other was concordman, who had the wins for Norwich and Lincoln, to give him a decent 6 points. Best of those to get one 3 pointer was Daniel, who had the Norwich 2-1, and two outcomes to give him a solid 5 points.

U'sual Champions League All the details for the Round Of 16 are now available on the separate U'sual Champions League thread.

In the Premier Another poor return from this division, with only 20 points in total, and the top two getting half of them between them. This means the decent week for concordman has increased his lead by a couple of points from blueeagle, who thanks to getting the Norwich 2-1 spot-on, has now created a 9 point gap to the third. Even though there are still 86 games left to the season, it suddenly looks like being a 2-horse race for the title. After having the Norwich 2-1 spot-on, Sector4 has moved up another three places, into that third spot. After being 10th in Week 20, it has only taken him 7 weeks to move up 7 places. One outcome each for thrillseeker and RSCOSWORTH in fourth and fifth, and not even that for mfb_cufc, and firing that blank has dropped him to his lowest position since Week 11. Just outcomes for the rest of the division, if you were lucky, means no change from last week. A change of tactics for noah4x4, in predicting his first three draws of the season, fail to change his luck, with only that late goal from Burnley giving him an outcome. At least he now has more outcomes than anyone over the two divisions.

In Division One The lead changes again, as the solid week from Daniel takes him back to the top again, as he takes advantage of basher2010 firing a blank. Despite that blank he still holds onto the other automatic spot, but by only a point, as Jorash63 closes in after having the Norwich 2-1 spot-on. Only one outcome for bwildered, but he remains fourth. After having the Lincoln 1-0 spot-on, Lewis_1 moves up a place, and back to fifth. The top scoring performance from BFG moved him up a couple of places into the final play-off place. Despite getting the Norwich 2-1 spot-on, Tropical_Us remains seventh for the third week running. Firing a blank drops burnsieespana three places to eighth. Two more to have the Norwich 2-1 spot-on were Colukev and Blue4U2, and with also one outcome, the former moves above the latter. A good spot-on, and outcome for TheRams, but a first season in the play-offs is starting to look difficult. By bringing his Happy Cup form to the League, a top scoring performance from durham_exile moves him up a place, and similar efforts could see him make a late run for te play-offs. The final one this week to have the Norwich 2-1 spot-on was Madeira163, and that has given him every chance of avoiding the wooden spoon.

THE TABLES (194 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
