I’m just wondering where Jimmy Keohane ranks on the Dale all-time appearance list? He seems to have been an ever-present for years now.

I've got a feature prepared for TVOS for when he has made his 200th appearance, which should come against Wealdstone in our next game.

If he plays that day, he'll become the 40th player to make 200 appearances for the club.

There are then eight other players he could realistically overtake before the end of the season, all things being well.

They are:

202 Tom Kennedy
202 Joe Thompson
203 Joe Lynn
204 Gareth Griffiths
204 Eric Snookes
206 Billy Bertram
207 Bill Watson
209 Jason Peake

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Thanks TVOS! How many appearances will he need to make the top 10?

I haven’t got my copy of Saturday’s TVOS with me to check but I’m guessing that the majority of those 199 appearances were starts rather than coming off the bench.

Yes, by some distance too. 17 sub appearances, 182 starts. Ignore Soccerbase, as it doesn't have the Hereford or Gateshead cup ties from this season included.

Shun - I'll answer your second question tonight

Probably one of the most underrated players we've had these last few years and very much under valued, also comes across as a model pro too and just works his socks off wherever he's asked to play.

Much like a lot of the unfair criticism the manager receives that doesn’t reflect the facts and what we see at games, Keohane is someone else who isn’t recognised for his contributions during a very difficult time in the club’s history.

His defending hasn’t always been great, but he does a steady enough job at full back and his contributions at the other end of the pitch exceed any reasonable expectations.

When the team that’s top of the Premier League have a right back who gets found defensively on occasion whilst being one of their most effective players going forward, I think we can make do with Keohane. Again, like McNulty, you wonder what more anyone would want right now.
