Two goals in two second-half minutes saw Plymouth beat Huddersfield in their first Championship game in more than 13 years. Well done to Tropical_Us for being the only one to get this spot-on, and a further 15 had the outcome.
WATFORD 4 QUEENS PARK RANGERS 0
Watford eased to a dominant win over sorry QPR with four first-half goals, in Valerien Ismael's first Championship game in charge of the Hornets. Nobody had this spot-on, but 22 did get the outcome.
CAMBRIDGE UNITED 2 OXFORD UNITED 0
Relegation favourites Cambridge start with a comfortable win. Again nobody got this spot-on, though 9 did have the outcome.
CHARLTON ATHLETIC 1 LEYTON ORIENT 0
A first-half strike by captain George Dobson was enough for Charlton to win this local derby. A sublime 5 had this spot-on, and a further 17 got the outcome with 10 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score.
STOCKPORT COUNTY 0 GILLINGHAM 1
Substitute Robbie McKenzie fired home an 86th minute winner to hand Gillingham a hard-earned victory. Only 2 got this spot-on, and 3 more had the outcome. 19 predicted a win for Stockport.
WREXHAM 3 MILTON KEYNES DONS 5
A game that Netflix can use to make a Hollywood disaster movie. A line I was looking forward to using this season, but never thought I would use it so soon. A final game with no 3 pointer this week, but 4 did get the outcome. 18 predicted a win for Wrexham.
First of all a big thank you to all of last seasons members returning again this season, except for the well documented loss of MrHappy. Also it is good to see the return of Colukev, and a warm welcome to new member Jorash63. I am hopeful of another new member joining for the Week 2 fixtures. The first games of the season are usually played in good summer weather, but not today, with torrential rain causing Colchester's game to be the first time an opening-day EFL game has been called off because of the weather. As for the Happy League, it will always be difficult to find those 3 pointers at the beginning of the season, regardless of the weather, and so it proved in Week 1, with only 8. At least the 70 outcomes got some reasonable points on the board for most members. No doubt as to who the weeks top performer is, as BFG was the only member who managed to get two 3 pointers, the 1-0 wins for Charlton and Gillingham, and the Watford outcome. to give him an excellent 7 points. Best of those to have one 3 pointer were Lewis_1, Madeira163 and Daniel, who all had the Charlton 1-0, and thrillseeker, who got the Gillingham 1-0, and they each had three outcomes, to give them all a decent 6 points.
In the Premier Those decent 6 points for thrillseeker means he is the early leader, just a point ahead of ghughes11, who was the final one to get the Charlton 1-0 spot-on, and noah4x4 and oxfcolu, who both had an impressive 5 outcomes. Then it is the first to post rule that is determining positions in the rest of the division, except for GOSBTS, who will be hoping today's blank is the final one he fires in his debut Premier season.
In Division One It is Dad and Son leading the way after the first week, with the top scoring performance from BFG putting him top, and Lewis_1 in the other automatic spot, on the first to post rule from Madeira163 and Daniel in third and fourth. A point further back in fifth is Tropical_Us. The final play-off spot is taken by burnsieespana, as he heads a group of four on the first to post rule.
