It's not a signing that would make you go wow but let's hope it's that type of signing that we look back on fondly.

Not sure what is seen in this Ukrainian striker, no real history of a goalscorer even at under age grade.
Surely not a Piroe replacement?

Definitely more of a Dyche defender than a Pep

In fairness, Piroe hadn't scored goals before coming here.

And V Sweden reckoned it was a big mistake signing him

Non comparable with Piroe, Pederson is 28yr old steady eddy and Piroe was signed as guy just into his 20s struggling to get his foot in at senior level after a pretty decent under age record with the Netherlands.

I am hoping Pederson is brought in to cover at CB and be back up LWB as we need something better at LWB than him over the season.
I can see an outgoing and possibly Brandon Cooper?

Duff said that he wanted 5/6 players
Rushworth
Ashby
Pederson
This Ukraine striker

That's 4, only another 1/2 players coming in without Piroe going. Looking at the squad and a left sided wing back is standing out as a requirement after the above signings.

He certainly isn't injury prone, barely missed a game in 4 seasons at Birmingham.

The move hasn't worked out for him at Cologne

I just read his stay T Cologne WAS injury affect3x.
I’m not keen on signing injury prone players myself

He had one injury last November, fit now, medical tomorrow.

You certainly can't bracket him with Walsh.

Who I sadly think it's time for him to call it a day

He suffered a long term muscular injury whilst at Koln.
Let's hope that the medical assessment is absolutely thorough in this area.

Nice reply.
However his injury at Cologne was not insignificant.
Anyway, agreed on Walsh who has not and never will be a significant player for us.
I feel Joe has,to all intents and purposes “ gone” and we surely can’t expect him to get fit and stay injury free
At this point,I’d compliment Grimes, who like Ash Williams, has an astonishing injury free career.

I think he s overrated but a great young pro,for sure

Apologies 🙈

Similar records at club level but internationally at younger age it appears that Piroe was destined to do things but didn't kick on in his later teens ans early 20s until he joined us.
The Ukrainian striker seems to have a ok/poor record but seems to have had a few decent teams monitoring him so he is certainly one with potential.

It was interesting reading that DrP said on the other site that he expects us to be spending around 5M from now until the start of the season on top of what we have already spent, reports that this new investment won't be announced until after the window so we don't get shafted on fees prior.......this being the case then these 2 permanents of Lederson and this Ukrainian suggest that we are still working on a tight budget.

Has to be a squad filler who is capable as the back up LWB option and an option as one of the 3 centre halves.
Same applies for the striker also, if these guys are replacing Piroe and Manning then big questions need to be asked and they will during the season if that's the case.

At ths point we have to trust the manager and hope that he can get a tune out of these players.

Plenty of players get rejected or appear to be "not good enough" only for the right manager to come along, lets hope Duff is the right manager.

Still a big commitment from the club 3 or 4 signings
No guarantee of outgoings with rumours that Piroe may sit tight.

Pederston is on 16k a week
Ashby 10k a week
Rushmore 6 to 7k a week

Call it 1.5 million in wages plus the fee for Pederston depending which site you go on valued at 500k minimum to 2 million maximum

There will also be loan fees for the 2 PL players it all adds up.
No such thing as a free transfer these days.

I think young players loaned to lower placed clubs should have their wages and a fee paid to the receiving club. In effect the receiving club is improving (if it works) a player for the more senior club and adding value to future transfers.

When you consider since Jan that we have seen go out the door
Obafemi
Joseph
Whittaker
Manning
Joel Lat
Sorinola
Cundle
Garrick

The wages lost there, taken in around 8M, investment of 10M from Morris plus more to come and we have seen arrive so far
Ginnelly
Yates
Key

I would say that we would most certainly be able to do a bit more than we are seeing even with this next round of players coming in........may add even able to do even if Piroe stays(big if).
Not personally saying we should be but I would expect a bit more than a steady eddy Pederson and a bolter in this Ukrainian guy.

Hoping that we see a LWB and a creative 10 with goals and if Piroe does go then a replacement for him.

Maybe we will I don't think this will be the end of the signings personally.

What needs to be taken into consideration is the losses last accounts 12 million I think it was.

Even with the Morris money plus possible future investment we still need to be run sensibly.

Hopefully Piroe will go soon but odds are shortening slightly every day he is with us.

As I said earlier, DrP expects us to be a top 6 spend in the champ.....my calculations would see us needing to spend around 8-10M for that, he was very confident about that.
As much as I can't see it, given what we have taken in, the investment and future investment than I can understand his confidence behind it.
