Two recent letters from the Referees Association apologising for clear and obvious errors does nothing to help our parlous state and it anyway it could be argued that our failure to convert chances has also contributed to our dire position.
Even the War Chest promised by beleaguered RC will have to demonstrate deep pockets to compete with other clubs who are similarly placed. Tom Nichols is a target and signing Kwesi Appiah is also vital.
We could lose Longstaff, Lubala and Owens, although long term injuries to the first two have not helped either.
Alan Judge was so desperately unlucky to suffer such a severe injury, we all wish him well on his long recovery.
Anyway, that is for the next fortnight or so, today the Priestfield must occupy our thoughts and the opportunity for those three points.
Our Away record is simply lamentable, a single point against Walsall and all those defeats.
Frankly we must win today, yes no team has been relegated in December but if we are escape the bottom two then three points today is a must.

RS my immediate thought was MB would play 5,3,2 but he played 3,5,2.
It was very effective but the most important part was the two strikers.
Tovide and Akinde worked hard throughout.
Two challenging games coming up at home and a serious injury to Longstaff has not helped and Newby appears to also be out injured.
Plenty to be optimistic about.
I thought Gillingham were ragged and notwithstanding the takeover with deep pockets they have lots to do.
