Rugby - France v Boks 14:42 - Nov 13 with 1983 viewsWatfordR

Just watching this on Prime. 12 minutes gone, Bok sent off for dangerous challenge.

Two things:

1. As I've pointed out in previous posts on the ineptitude of football refs, in rugby, you as a player break the rules, the rules are applied, and if that means you are sent off early in the game, potentially ruining the game as a contest, then so be it. I'd far rather things were done this way in football.

2. Just how thick do these rugby players have to be to put themselves in a position to be red carded, hamstringing their team mates for almost the entire game? It's televised, offences will be spotted almost every time. Very little chance you'll get away with it. The coaching staff, the rest of the team must be absolutely seething.

Not the end of the world in an Autumn friendly, but a disaster in yesterday’s women’s World Cup final that cost them a trophy.

Union seems to be taking a much harder line than League. The good intentions go out the window the more there is a stake in the game. Paulo got 10 minutes in the sin bin for a tip tackle, but he was only playing because a ban for a forearm in the face of a Tonga player was reversed, and even worse has been waved through to keep the game competitive.

Really enjoyed that game. From the second minute right until the end it was in the balance.

To go three quarters of the game a player down and get within a few meters of winning was great character. Hopefully the performance will do for women's sport what the Lionesses did in the summer.

In fairness to du Toit, his error was being vulnerable on the floor - De Allende absolutely launched him into the French jackaler. A pretty big case for 2 reds imo
