Jazz - still only 31 22:00 - Sep 24 with 2340 views | Kilkennyjack | With Joey Allen 32 and Super Ben 29 off to the World Cup, i just looked up Jazz. Its a bit sad he is not playing at pro level, i always thought there was a good player in there. And Wales needs everyone. I dont know the back story.

Jazz - still only 31 on 00:51 - Sep 25 with 2225 views | RichardO | Jazz never was a full back shoehorned in to cover Rangel, as a youngster looked quite comfortable in midfield, wrong place at the wrong time maybe?

Thats a good point. He made a couple of errors and apologised like a local lad would - but overall i still thought he could do well in the right formation. 14 Cymru caps and the Euros is more than most achieve. But 31 and Haverfordwest was not something i expected to see. Hope he is enjoying his football.

Or maybe even not good enough for long enough …. 🤷â€â™‚ï¸ Quite a few players in Qatar will be 31 or older. It must make him think.

There will be quite a few 31 year olds who will think that could be me, but the majority will know that they were just not good enough.

Timing is important. Roberts arrived at the perfect time for himself , last few games in Prem, and has not looked back. If he had arrived with Rangel in his prime then he might not have pushed through.

In the few games I saw him play in midfield, he looked calm on the ball, used it well, was positionally very good but never quite had the confidence to stamp any authority on the game. Always looked for the easy pass. May have been playing to instruction.
Jazz - still only 31 on 15:05 - Sep 25 with 1975 views | Joesus_Of_Narbereth | In other positive news David Brooks played his first game since getting the all clear the other day for Bournemouth u-21s. World Cup probably a step too soon though.

Jazz - still only 31 on 21:49 - Sep 25 with 1818 views | Catullus | I never thought jazz was good enough, a lower league player for me. I don't think he had the mental strength needed. He is/was nowhere near the player Allen is. On a seperate topic, there are a lot of players going on well past 30 these days but 30 years back when you hit 30 it was pretty much the end unless you dropped down the leagues like Molby did with us. Anybody carrying on to 35 and older was exceptional but you see a lot of 35 plus playing now.

Agreed on Joey, not many are that good. 72 caps tells us that. Yes Arsene Wenger stated us with yoga and pilates. Radical at a time of mid-week booze ups. But has lengthened careers for many. Look after your body, and your body will look after you. Plus lots and lots of water apparently…

Jazz - still only 31 on 16:54 - Sep 26 with 1686 views | glanmORJa_k | Jazz made a half-time appearance at the Hawthorns replacing Painter at left full back and did very well in a 1-0 win during Paulo Souza's tenure. A busy midfielder who possibly didn't have the necessary qualities that Darren Pratley possessed in that position. Had a good career nevertheless but has lost that yard of pace to play in the Championship while the injuries he has suffered has seen him revert to a right sided full back. Unless it's a wage problem, he could still do a good job in League Two and surprised Newport havn't signed him.
Jazz - still only 31 on 19:27 - Sep 26 with 1653 views | 1983 | I listened to his interview on AIC podcast he came across as shy and humble he also touched on mental health a bit and said he was happy playing at Haverfordwest fc than he ever has been, makes you think if he had his time again he wouldn't go down the footballer route.

I remember the pelters I took back I the day for saying Jazzley was not a championship level footlballer, let alone a PL one. I stood pretty much alone on that. The same as the Joniesta bloke, never in a million years anything above league 2. Having good feet doesn’t make a good footballer.
