Given the slightly odd situation with contract renewals, the arrival of the new board member in February (which unfortunately coincided with our on-pitch collapse), is this all pointing to a clean slate and new owners come the end of the season?

Again, I might be wrong, but Amit has a stake of a couple of percent, and was put in as a popular token figurehead chairman to stop Fernandes being battered and abused constantly on Twitter. He could have bought the club at a million different points over the last decade and hasn't.
Yes, Amit's nothing more than a figurehead now since reducing his stake. However, his father did make an offer which Tango and Cash rejected. Unfortunately for Mittal, they'd already identified a better proposition in the F1 paddocks. Since then, the club has been criminally mismanaged and become a less attractive investment proposition.

Not the only one I imagine. Suddenly the bond doesn't look so promising.
Did anyone really buy a bond to make a profit? Probably more to feel like a part ownership (however small) of the club, something to feel proud to own.

Yes. The promotion bonus was the carrot that convinced many to invest. Without it I doubt the allure of having a stake in the training ground would have been enough in itself. If it were, the board wouldn't have even offered the promotion bonus in the first place.

@NRogers959 is always a good one to follow for things like this...
The obvious conclusion at the moment is that the QPR Asia shares that were sold to Amit and Reilly were those of Kamarudin and he has now left the club.
So Richard Reilly buying up 12% for just over £13m and Amit / Mitals increasing their stake to 10% for just under £10.5m. Ruben remains the majority shareholder with 51.03%

About market average. The promotion bonus is the real carrot. Regardless of individual investors' reasons for buying, the owners would stand to pay a fair wedge if promotion is achieved during the bond's life.
