Week 25 results EVERTON 0 ASTON VILLA 1 Duncan Ferguson's second reign as Everton caretaker manager started with a defeat, as they only manage to have one shot on target. 3 got this spot-on, and a further 9 had the outcome. BRENTFORD 1 WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 2 Ruben Neves' second-half strike earned Wolves all three points, in a game that was halted for more than 25 minutes in the first half because a drone hovered above the ground. A sublime 5 had this spot-on, and another 7 got the outcome. MANCHESTER UNITED 1 WEST HAM UNITED 0 Marcus Rashford scored the winner with virtually the last kick of the game as United leapfrogged West Ham into the Premier League's top four. Only noah4x4 and Pinault_Noir got this spot-on, and a further 16 had the outcome. NOTTINGHAM FOREST 2 DERBY COUNTY 1 Goals from Lewis Grabban and Brennan Johnson gave Forest victory over their troubled rivals in the East Midlands derby. 3 had this spot-on, and another 13 got the outcome. COVENTRY CITY 1 QUEENS PARK RANGERS 2 QPR get a 88th minute winner, and are the only team in the division to have scored in all their away league matches this season. A massive 10 got this spot-on, and 3 more got the outcome. WEST BROMWICH ALBION 3 PETERBOROUGH UNITED 0 West Brom win it with three goals in the final 12 minutes. Everybody predicted a win for West Brom, but only Sector4 did well to be the only one to have it spot-on. 13 predicted West Brom to win 2-0 in what was the weeks most predicted score. CAMBRIDGE UNITED 1 CREWE ALEXANDRA 0 Adam May scored just before the break as Cambridge edged a narrow victory to record their fifth straight win in all competitions. A sublime 5 got this spot-on, and a further 19 had the outcome. IPSWICH TOWN 2 ACCRINGTON STANLEY 1 Ipswich came from behind to win and bring an end to Accrington's five-match unbeaten run. A magnificent 7 had this spot-on, and another 14 got the outcome. OXFORD UNITED 3 SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 2 Substitute Sam Winnall headed a late winner against his old club as Oxford win a thriller in front of their biggest gate of the season. Well done to Blue4U2 for being the only one to get this spot-on, and another 10 had the outcome. PLYMOUTH ARGYLE 1 LINCOLN CITY 2 Lincoln get a 92nd minute winner as they came from behind to win at Plymouth in Argyle's first home game for 35 days. No points for anybody here, as 25 predicted a win for Plymouth. SALFORD CITY 0 COLCHESTER UNITED 3 Managerless Colchester gave their League Two survival hopes a huge boost with an impressive win. Nobody got this spot-on, but 6 did have the outcome. Having an eleven game week seems to be the key to getting matches going to form. The last time we had one in Week 22 it achived 36 spot-ons, and a total of 209 points. We did even better this week with 37 spot-ons, and a total of 235 points, to give us the best week of the season so far. Not surprisingly it produced a number of good performances, with the stand out one coming from thrillseeker, who got four 3 pointers, the wins for Villa, Forest, QPR and Ipswich. He also had four outcomes to make him the weeks top scorer with an absolutely brilliant 16 points. That is the highest score this season, and just 2 points short of the all time record, that he jointly holds himself. Just one member had three 3 pointers, that was ghughes11 who had the 2-1 wins for Wolves, Forest and QPR. He also had four outcomes to give hin a really excellent 13 points. There were nine members who did well to have two 3 pointers, the best of which came from unitedwhites, who got the wins for QPR and Cambridge, wessex_exile who had the 2-1 wins for Wolves and QPR, and bwildered who got the 2-1 wins for Forest and QPR. They all had five outcomes to give them a superb 11 points. At the beginning of the season the results were being dominated by draws in the Happy League, but with the eleven games this week failng to have a draw, I thought it was time to see how things were now. The 182 games have achieved 73 (40.11%) Home wins, very much in line with previous seasons. 58 (31.87%) Away wins, only 3% down on previous seasons, and 51 (28.02%) Draws, making them 3% up on previous seasons. The two 1-0's this week make that equal with the 1-1 as the seasons top result with 21 each. Happy Midweek League Cup Just a reminder, the next round of games take place on Tuesday 1st February. In the Premier Having the Ipswich 2-1 spot-on, and an impressive 7 outcomes keeps TheFatGooner top for the fourth week running. Even though second place RSCOSWORTH got two 3 pointers, the 2-1 wins for QPR and Ipswich, he drops a further point back. The superb week for unitedwhites edged him a bit closer to the front two, and created a bit of daylight back to the fourth basher2010, who held onto the final Super Cup spot only on the most 3 pointer rule, from ghughes11, whose excellent week moved him up five places, and into the top half for the first time this season. Also losing out on the most 3 pointer rule is concordman, as the three who were promoted last season continue to improve in their new surroundings. Despite getting a season best score, mfb_cufc drops into the bottom half for only the second time this season. Even though he equalled his seasons best score, noah4x4 still remains in the bottom three, but it is only by the most 3 pointer rule now. The decent week for Blue4U2, that had the QPR 2-1 spot-on, to go with his good Oxford 3-2 pick, has moved him 3 points nearer to safety. In Division One This league has not only heavily outscored the Premier, but has also produced probably the most competitive one there has been. The superb week for wessex_exile has moved him up three places to the summit, for the second time this season. It becomes the fourteenth time there has been a different member occupying that top spot this season. Remaining in the other automatic place is Lewis_1, but only on the most 3 pointer rule from Blueeagle and Pinault_Noir, in third and fourth. Even though he drops two places, Tropical_Us has more 3 pointers than anybody in both divisions, and is only 3 points off the top. Up five places, and into the play-off places for the first time this season, is early season favourite thrillseker, after his brilliant week. That means gerry_us drops out of the play-offs for the first time since Week 3, but remains well in contention for that £200. Towards the bottom, rookie bewildered is starting to find his feet, and his good recent run seems to have made sure there is no first season wooden spoon. THE TABLES (182 out of 280 played) (Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post) Week 26 Fixtures As the Premier League take their winter break, we are off to the city for this weeks games.
