Where do we go from here? on 22:07 - Nov 26 with 6100 views | icecoldjack | We bumble along to the end of the season with the current squad, get rid of around 14 of them in the summer and re invent the wheel the following season hoping our youth players all turn into the next Dan James. It’s the reason why cooper was appointed after all, he’s a youth team coach who will next season be coaching a youth team once again, only difference is that he will be using them in the championship.
Where do we go from here? on 22:08 - Nov 26 with 6085 views | jojaca | Even Tony Pulis football looks more attractive at the moment. Cooper needs a magic wand to solve our midfield. We are so bad in that department, I don't know what the solutions are apart from trying under 23's. I would like to see Surridge given a run of games, possibly Ayew behind him and drop Celina.

Where do we go from here? on 22:13 - Nov 26 with 6028 views | centrestandswan | We are very average , and will probably end up around about mid way, if this side got promoted it would be up there with the fishes and loaves trick.

The trouble is, things aren't going to get any better once the parachute payments run out (next year is a sizeable drop too). Worrying times.

Completely agree hence the disappointment of potentially blowing big chance this year, the league is so poor it’s scary. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Really worrying form, we’re lucky to be where we are, but the players are getting more disorganised with each Game, he clearly doesn’t know his best team and like previous managers that didn’t work out, he’s scrambling around trying to find something that clicks... After a good stuffing at the hands of Fulham on Friday, fans will start showing their frustrations, the pressure rises blah, blah, blah, we all know what’s on the horizon... Just a matter of time the way things are going 😕

This! Can anyone actually point to one main squad player who has improved this season?

Well, he doesn't seem able to get our younger players to do the basics and our seniors look cheesed off. Not one player is performing at the level we saw last season or the start of this.

Where do we go from here? on 22:52 - Nov 26 with 5758 views | Swanski | We aren't playing with any confidence. Lack of width and pace tonight. No one making runs behind except Sturridge. Ayew is class but hasnt the support to link up with. We are at our best when our backs link and overlap with the wingers, and get the ball in quickly. We get turned over too much in the midfield with a lack of strength, creativity and sloppiness. Dont think Cooper knows his best line up and formation yet. I know injuries have played their part and player inconsistency but haven't seen him stamp the team.
Where do we go from here? on 08:34 - Nov 27 with 5524 views | Yossarian | The Swansea Way has definitely gone and it is worrying that Cooper doesn’t appear to have a clue about his best team or which way he wants to play. It seems we are staggering from one disappointing performance to another. If we are honest, many of our away wins have been ‘smash and grab’ jobs where we’ve been outplayed. The performances have been poor and it seems that individuals have not progressed, in fact, many of them have gone backwards. In terms of the squad as a whole, that must be down to coaching- but in fairness to Cooper, he’s having to make do with a midfield that are collectively not up to it this season. This has been a glaring hole for quite a few years now and testament to the financial predicament at the club that there has been little attempt to put this right. You can’t blame the strikers when they are having to perform on scraps and spare a thought for our back four who are repeatedly exposed by the opposition running through our midfield like they’re not there. Before this club does anything else, they have to strengthen this area in January, either by offloading Boston and Ayew in order to spend, or blooding someone from within. On a positive note, Cabango looks some player- another success story from the Academy and this clearly has to be at the forefront of the club’s long term plans.

You say offload Baston and Ayew to spend. You need to re think that, there is no chance of us spending a penny even if that happens. Deluded if you think otherwise.

This. We sell Ayew and Baston which by the way aren't worth that much now, that money will go straight into plugging income shortfalls/line pockets *delete as appropriate As good as the team have been at times this season the poison still remains

Fair point about us not spending if we offload Ayew and Baston- but I would suggest that if an offer came in for either of them they’d be gone in a flash. Aren’t they both out of contract in the summer anyway? Next pre-season could be on a par with the last one....losing Woodman, Roberts, VDH, Wilmott, Ayew, Baston, Surridge. Sticking to the title of the thread, it’s got to be keeping as many of the above as we can and hoping we find some more stars from the U23’s. Cabango is looking to be one for sure. If Cooper is still around next season ( and personally I hope he is) the. I hope he can use some influence to get some of his old charges here on loan. I would also like to see Ampadu here on a season long loan.

Why? When you know that all of our players can play better football, why are you prepared to put up with them not reaching or maintaining their potential?
