I don't doubt the fact he was interviewed, what baffles me is why! Nothing personal against the guy, looks like a top bloke, he's done an excellent job down there, but the style of play don't seem to fit with the reboot of twelve months ago does it?
In fairness to him, it is a style that works down in the bottom divisions, we should know, we saw plenty of hoof em up down the Vetch over the years.

Just because he plays one style with Newport doesn’t mean he’d do the same here.
We were lucky in League One that we had the players who were capable of playing that way. Martinez signed technically good players and also got good players playing good football. He wouldn’t have got the same out of some of the cloggers we’d assembled under Jackett
Newport had a couple of decent results against PL teams in cups but the bits 'I've seen (on TV and not many) in the league suggests they are a team that succeeds on direct play and emotion. Our successful style has been the opposite of that. I know loads of fans want an up and at 'em approach but has never really worked for us. I have idea really but Flynn strikes me as a Kenny Jackett type manager who was great in the lower leagues but not quite able to adapt to the Championship, would Flynn be the same?
